In the distant future Earth has been all but abandoned by humans. Those that remained are found on one continent in scattered preindustrial communities. Across the ocean live a variety of hybrid races initially created by wealthy humans as servants or pets. Now the elder humans have sent a ship to evaluate the home world and why it is of interest to a new alien race.
Several moons have passed since Sage had eluded his older brother Thorn and helped his parents return to space using the last functioning portal from earth to the moon. Leaving Thorn searching for a spaceship to leave the planet. Our young winged friends Dax and Alleta have together passed into the mysterious garden to learn from Ozias to be guardians of the plants. Unknown to them their disappearance became the spark of a civil war between the wings of the mountain people. Khashar is busy training his White Wing of Healers that are hard pressed under the demands of the war. Join the crew of the Friendship 4 and all their friends as they come together to battle for peace in their world.

In the 46th century, most of the pure blood humans have long ago left earth. On one continent the former genetic hybrid races have survived well without them, but one race in particular is still hoping to find the original humans. Aine and Jett set sail with their friends in hopes of making contact with some of the remaining humans. The young Wizard Gilpin hopes they might hold the key to understanding his new found powers, while Ghost and Demarcus set off on their own adventure. This book picks up where The Adventure of Philip the Faun ends. Old friends and new come together in this second book of the series.
