About this series

Naiya is a wereleopard.

Except she doesn't know how that's even possible, considering her entire breadth of knowledge of such things comes from pop culture and classic horror movies.

So when her wealthy adoptive parents—in a flash of frustrating cluelessness—drop her into rehab just so she can get picked up by some shadow organization, Naiya can't help but feel like everything she thought she knew about herself is wrong. Because these people push her to the limits of her capabilities and beyond without even blinking, and she learns she's not the only thing that goes bump in the night.

If it weren't for her fellow captives, Val and Andy, Naiya might go entirely mad with the whole ordeal.

And once she finally escapes, she'll never be caged again.

It's hard enough learning to be both werewolf and pack when you haven't felt like you belonged anywhere for most of your life. Even harder when you learn you're part of a protected bloodline that the American military itches to get its hands on. Harder still when that bloodline gives you terrifying powers that threaten your newfound belonging. Oh yea, and that guy you thought liked you before? He's a vampire. A PLACE TO RUN follows the story of Grace Lynn Cartwright, a lonely copy-editor who suddenly finds herself thrust into the world of things that go bump in the night. Between adjusting to life in a pack, the military vying for her thanks to her bloodline, and the former friend who only wanted her for her blood, Grace can barely get a chance to breathe before her next problem comes along. Her story is told slice-of-life style and is perfect for anyone who's ever wanted to be part of a pack.

When the first purgatum in over a millennium surfaces, Kristos can't deny the instinct to protect her. But can he keep her safe when the day-walking vampire from his past will stop at nothing to get his hands on her?   *   *   *   *   *   With a simple phone call, 2000-year-old werebear Kristos finds himself inexorably pulled back toward the purpose he was built for. A purpose he's been trying to ignore for easily half his life. A purpose he thought had died long ago.   But this purgatum is the first he's known of in centuries. The church killed the last one.   Racing to her side from halfway across the country, Kristos learns that the day-walking vampire from his past is still alive. And he's probably not looking to rekindle their passions.   If Kristos can't find a way to stop him, it spells certain death for the purgatum, and likely all of the werewolves soon after.   He can't let himself fail again.   *   *   *   *   *   AUTHOR'S NOTE: This book contains LGBTQIA+ characters, whose relationships are explored on the page.

Author

Becca Lynn Mathis

Born and raised in Texas, BECCA LYNN MATHIS has been writing stories and daydreaming about other worlds since she was a little girl reading books in the branches of the tree in her front yard. As she grew, so did her love of stories, so much so that she often got in trouble at school for writing them, even if her other work was already done. Today, she is a graduate of Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL with her B.S. in psychology. She is a dreamer of the highest order, involving herself in as much storytelling and geekery as she can manage, whether that's playing Dungeons & Dragons (or Pathfinder), prepping a musical performance for the next local renaissance or pirate faire, or simply getting lost for hours playing video games like Beat Saber or World of Warcraft. She lives in sunny South Florida with her amazingly supportive husband, their awesome blended family and two goofy dogs.
