About this series
Can the youngest Fuller sister tame the beast of a Police Chief? Or will their romance fizzle because of his temper? A modern-day retelling of Beauty and the Beast!
Berlin Fuller has struck out with the dating scene in Brush Creek more times than she cares to admit. When she makes a deal with her friends that they can choose the next man she goes out with, she didn't dream they'd pick surly Cole Fairbanks, the new Chief of Police. Not only is Cole twelve years older than Berlin, he doesn't date. Period.
His friends call him the Beast and challenge him to complete ten dates that summer or give up his bonus check to their bank accounts. When Berlin approaches him, stuttering about the deal with her friends and claiming they don't actually have to go out, he's intrigued. Everything from her hair color to her eyelashes is fake, and Cole really wants to know the woman beneath the façade.
So he agrees to the date and actually wants to go on it. And then another. And another. As the summer passes, Cole finds himself burning both ends of the candle to keep up with his job and his new relationship. When he unleashes the Beast one time too many, Berlin will have to decide if she can tame him or if she should walk away. Can Cole shelve his pride and apologize? Or will it be too little too late for Berlin?

Dawn Fuller has made some mistakes in her life, and she's not proud of the way McDermott Boyd found her off the road one day last year. She'd driven an hour to have a medical test done so her family wouldn't know, and while McDermott has asked Dawn out several times since then, her shame and embarrassment haven't allowed her to say yes. She's spent a hard year wrestling with her choices and trying to fix them, glad for McDermott's acceptance and friendship. He lost his wife years ago, done his best with his daughter, and now he's ready to move on. He's dated other women, but he keeps gravitating back to Dawn as if she's the sun and his whole world revolves around her. He asks her out one more time, surprised when she finally accepts. Dahlia Reid is one of the best detectives Brush Creek and the surrounding towns has ever had. She's given up on the idea of marriage—and pleasing her mother—and has dedicated herself fully to her job. Which is great, since one of the most perplexing cases of her career has come to town. Kyler Fuller thinks he's finally ready to move past the woman who ghosted him years ago. He's cut his hair, and he's ready to start dating. Too bad every woman he's been out with is about as interesting as a lamppost—until Dahlia. He finds her beautiful, her quick wit a breath of fresh air, and her intelligence sexy. But her top secret case pulls her away a lot, causing her to break their dates often. Kyler wants to be patient, because he's never met someone who speaks to his heart the way Dahlia does. But he's frustrated he comes second to the job. When he finds himself in the middle of her case—right between her and the man she's looking for—Kyler will have to decide if she's worth the risk or if he should look for a date who doesn't hunt criminals for a living. Can Kyler and Dahlia use their faith to find a way through the obstacles threatening to keep them apart?

She meets paramedic Max Robinson at the park and sets a date with him only to come down with the flu. So she convinces Jazzy to cut her hair and take her place on the date. And the spark between Jazzy and Max is hot and instant...if only he knew she wasn't her sister, Fabi. Max has been married once before, but he now spends his time playing the guitar and taking care of his little sister's exotic bird. He drives the ambulance for the town of Brush Creek with is partner Ed Moon, and neither of them have been all that lucky in love. Until Max suggests to who he thinks is Fabi that they should double with Ed and Jazzy. They do, and Fabi is smitten with the steady, strong Ed Moon, who's come to Brush Creek to help take care of his sister and her family after a devastating accident. As each twin falls further and further in love with their respective paramedic, it becomes obvious they'll need to come clean about the switcheroo sooner rather than later...or risk losing their hearts. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I really had a problem with the plot. To say he had no money left over when he had a job that other people have a family and a mortgage with and manage okay was the biggest problem. I couldn’t believe the story with that excuse.
