About this series

Kate and Spencer played together as children. Now, he needs someone to pose as his bride-to-be…temporarily. It's just an act, a temporary relationship. Neither of them wants it to be more, and yet…things aren't exactly going according to plan.

Kate Ryerson, a school nurse raising her late sister's child, has learned to avoid emotional entanglements, so when Spencer Fairfield, a voice from her past, bids on her at a charity auction and wins the right to her time for three weeks, she's nervous. Spencer wants her to play a part rather than use her nursing skills, and while his intentions are noble, she knows that he poses a danger to her "don't be attracted to dangerous men" rule. As for Spencer, he's spent a lifetime running from involvement. It's why he needs Kate to convince his matchmaking grandmother that she doesn't need to keep trying to find a wife for him. He wants his grandmother happy, but he also wants to stay emotionally whole. He'd thought that this charade with Kate would solve the problem. Instead, he can't seem to keep his emotions in check whenever Kate and her cute little son are around. Clearly, he made a mistake when he hired Kate. He only hopes that the three weeks will pass quickly and he'll be able to walk away from Kate without losing his heart.

She's born to be blue-collar; he's a blue blood through and through. They're not meant to meet and certainly not to love…until fate steps in.   Maggie Todd is no Cinderella, and she never wanted to be one. But when Ethan Bennington bids on her at a charity auction, then tells her that they have three weeks to turn her into a woman who can pass for an aristocrat at a high society ball, she knows she's in trouble. This is not something she wants to be a part of, and when Ethan turns his charming smile on her, she's sure she should run. But her soft heart won't let her turn away from a man who is just trying to save his family's business. She's trapped by her own emotions…in ways that grow more dangerous the longer she stays with Ethan.   As for Ethan, these three weeks teaching Maggie how to play the part of nobility should simply be an obstacle course he needs to get past. But Maggie's warm heart, her smile, that body she's kept hidden under baggy clothes turn his world upside down, and soon he's worrying more about kissing Maggie than achieving their goal. Disaster beckons, but he wonders…does he even care?   This book's original title when published in 2002 was simply Bought by the Billionaire.

April wants to choose a mate by purely scientific methods, no messy emotions allowed. Dylan has his life all planned out, and that plan doesn't include love or marriage or any kind of family at all. So, the fact that they're forced into each other's paths for three weeks shouldn't be a problem or a risk, should it?   April Pruitt, high school science and math teacher, has her feet firmly on the ground where they belong. She has no desire for romance. Her goals are clear, and they don't include getting all hot and bothered about a man. But when Dylan Valentine finds her at a charity job auction and enlists her to help him babysit his eighteen-month-old brothers, she finds herself erecting roadblocks to her emotions. As for Dylan, April and his baby brothers turn his world upside down, and he doesn't like that one little bit. It's clear that the two of them are going to have to do more than care for two little angels. They're also going to have to fight the attraction that's brewing between them. If they can't do that, then all of their plans and everything they've come to believe will be in danger. Surely they an both manage to resist temptation for just awhile longer…   When this book was originally published in 2002, it was simply titled The Billionaire's Bargain.
