      With only a few weeks before Molly returns home, an apartment fire leaves Blue living in a  motel. It isn't the worst place he's lived. With him are a friendly dog and her unfriendly owner, and a woman with a nasty temper. The air is filled with smoke from wildfires. It becomes clear the fire in the apartment was no accident, now people are dying. Like it or not, Blue is in the middle of things.

It becomes a issue for the municipal election, with one candidate leading protests against the Café. Molly is in her last year of Social Work at TRU, through one of her courses she gets involved in a mayoral campaign which puts her in the middle of the controversy. It is going to be an election for the history books.

    Alex has been writing stories almost as long as he's been reading them. He lives in Kamloops, BC and spends a great deal of time figuring out how to make his characters work hard at life. His two dogs, named after favourity scotch malts are a big reason he doesn't suffer as much as his characters.
