About this series

The Emperor of Atlantis has begun his invasion of Earth. When the erstwhile supervillain Dr. Regulus loses his entire robot assembly factory to a sudden attack of Atlantean Exiles, the Atlantean Isles prepare for war. The leaders of the Lost Isles, James Chase, Tane Casak, and Jayesh Khatri prepare their islands for the battle they've known was coming for so long.

As the Exiles emerge from portals and swarm the islands with a fearsome mechanized army, HeroTube fights back alongside the Atlantean Defense Force. James Chase fights to rescue his sister from the Exiles, who have captured her and are using her earth powers against them. Tane Casak deploys the Mercurion against the giant mecha of the Exiles, and victory seems assured … until the Emperor brings the death island Tyrona out of its prison dimension. Now the heroes of the Lost Isles and HeroTube alike must fight for their lives against the Emperor of Atlantis and his superweapons.

Because after three hundred years, Atlantis alone will not satisfy the Emperor's lust for conquest.

Tane is the beta in his team of superheroes--the muscle who lets his team do the thinking. He and his friends defend their small town on the Atlantean Isles from the experimental robots of a neighboring mad scientist, earning enough bounty to live on. When Tane discovers a mysterious gem that threatens to take over his mind, he accidentally drags his friends into becoming the crew of the mysterious Mercury Island. In addition, the island accepts Tane as its Guardian, making him the leader of the group. This sparks a cascade of conflicts between himself and the previous leader, Sebastian, who doubts and questions Tane at every turn. To make matters worse, they discover that a girl lies in stasis deep within the island--and she is the most powerful super of all. Now Tane is in deeper and deeper trouble as the girl's powers awaken, attracting the attention of supervillains and monsters alike. But she is the key to making Mercury Island fly again. Tane has only begun to grow into his Guardian role, but his enemies--and allies--may kill him first.

But an old threat has arisen--the scientists responsible for the alterations done to Cirrus and Maria have returned. They are eager to recapture their old experiments ... and their descendants. They promise Gladiolus a breakthrough treatment for her blind eye, circumventing the curse. Accepting this treatment means Gladiolus must leave her old life behind, including Tane and the Atlantean Islands. But the monster who laid the curse cannot be thwarted so easily, and accelerates Gladiolus's sickness in revenge for her choice. Now Tane must rescue Gladiolus from the curse, and his friends from the clutches of the scientists, and he'll need the full might of Mercury Island's superweapon to do it.

Friends draw closer, and even rivals are persuaded to work together. New powers are unlocked as the team delve into the mysteries of Atlanticite crystal, and even the island, itself. Now the arms dealers National Weapons Enterprises approach to capture the island, and the sea monster Tyrannith waits in the ocean below. Tane must make a terrible choice--to save his friends from one enemy, he must appease the other. He can't talk NWE down ... and appeasing Tyrannith may cost him his life.

Tane Casak, Guardian of Mercury Island, has been framed. Already accused of being a supervillain because of his defense of his team and his island, Tane is present when the governor of Atlantis is assassinated. Now the military and HeroTube are coming for him, and Tane awaits them with grim purpose.   James Chase, Islesworn, is part of the team sent to apprehend Tane. Recognizing him as the Guardian he's searched for for months, he plans to stop the superhero team before they can harm Tane or capture Mercury Island.   But when a team of Atlantean Exiles attack both Tane and James's team, alliances shift and enemies become allies. Because if they don't, Mercury Island will fall into the hands of the evil Exiles, and not even the healing powers of Jayesh the Bloodbound will save them.
