The Intelligencers Series

After her first mission for the Fair Seas Treaty Alliance, Intelligencer Dagrun Lund returns home to find that her twin sister Inger has disappeared. Using all of her skills as well as her strong Trait, Dag stows away on a ship and follows her sister to Strongrock, an island that is home to pirates. On Strongrock, Dag discovers that the pirates are hiding dangerous secrets; secrets that threaten to ensnare Inger and turn her against her country and her twin. When fellow Intelligencer Calder Rahmson arrives to escort Dag back home, the two of them find themselves targeted by the pirates. Fleeing for their lives, Calder and a heartbroken Dag are forced to leave Inger behind. Dag vows to find her sister and save her from the pirates, but when she discovers that the pirates are a threat to the Fair Seas Treaty Alliance, Dag faces a terrible choice between saving her sister and saving the Alliance.

With winter setting in and the Frozen Pass closed, everyone except Dag and Calder are trapped on the Pale Sea. Including Strongrock pirates.   When the pirates attack the warehouse where Pia and her sister have taken refuge, the small group is able to fight back. Pirate prisoner in tow, Pia makes her way to Lavais Port, where she meets up with Gustav, who is on a dangerous mission of his own and needs a partner. Keeping people safe—keeping her sister safe—means that Pia must make a choice and become what she swore she wouldn't: a true Intelligencer.   And while Dag continues the vital task of shipping supplies through the Teeth, Calder remains in the Sapphire Sea to stop an assassin from killing Charis and Inger, who are on the run from both the assassin and the corrupt Messanos Council. An unlikely and unpredictable alliance with pirates ends when their ship is captured, setting Calder and his sister ashore in dangerous waters with time running out. Can Luck save them this time?

After their escape from pirate captain Margit Ansdottir, Dagrun Lund and fellow Intelligencer Calder Rahmson witness the pirates' destruction of towns along the coast of Swyford. Along with the Lavais shipyards, sea-going vessels and warehouses of food have been destroyed. The city of Tarklee must be warned, before the pirates rejoin their co-conspirator, Grand Freeholder Tarmo Holt. Avoiding pirates at every turn, Dag and Calder journey to the city. But they're too late: Tarklee's harbour is set ablaze. With her sister gone and the looming threat of famine haunting the city, Dag, Calder, and the few remaining Intelligencers must find a way to defeat Tarmo Holt and save the people of the Fair Seas Treaty Alliance.
