Disorderly Elements Short Stories Series

About this series
A collection of seven stories from the Disorderly Elements world – and two are BRAND NEW!
In a world where elementalists walk among us, they strive to coexist without blowing us away in a gale. Burning us up in an inferno. Sweeping us away in a flood.
And through all that, they love.
Explore the urban fantasy world of Disorderly Elements where the unseen is as important as events plain to the eye, and where a real-life, tangible action follows a careless thought with dire consequences.
Control. Discipline. And between adventures, a relentless pursuit of happiness.
Visit with Cooper and Ash, Sig and David, and other favorite guys – and their guys – as they reveal their back-stories and as relish their between-the-books adventures!
Five favorites are joined by two brand-new stories, published in this collection for the first time.

1
Even though other kids have shown their elemental gift by now, the normal-seeming Cooper hides secret powers only his grandmother can Foresee. But Foresight can bring destruction. Messing with TimeFlow spells disaster. Cooper’s best chance at survival, his best shot at a normal life in a modern world, rests on his grandmother’s secret-keeping abilities. The fate of the world depends on Cooper’s natural future – and on keeping his mother from bending Time to have a “properly” Gifted son. In the contemporary world of Disorderly Elements universe, “Zero Power Signature” focuses on an early event in Cooper Anneveinen’s life, an event that starts him on his path to become an Elementalist of legend and our planet’s hope for survival. Continue this saga with LIKE A ROCK, Book 1 of the Disorderly Elements Series!
- Within a Crowded Blade: Disorderly Elements Short Stories
Jared helps his cousin Cooper save Pittsburgh from a rogue node, when something goes terribly wrong - and then he dies. Waking up inside a foggy, Japanese world does not fill him with confidence in afterlife. He hears, and he feels the energy currents that had made his elementalist gift so unique, but Jared cannot see any better than he can speak Japanese. What got him landed in this ethereal world? This between-the-books short story answers the question of "What happened to Jared?" in "Like a Torrent," book 2 of the Disorderly Elements.
- Airborne: Disorderly Elements Short Stories
Sig wants to fly so bad he'll try just about anything. Except his element is Fire - with only a bit of hot wind thrown in. But David, his lover and partner, can fly. And their friend Zack can separate his fire and air no problem. If they can do it, so can Sig - or die trying. A riveting, humorous tale of daredevil adventure in the desert near Las Vegas, where David gets protective, Sig soars like Ikarus, and where no dune buggies were maimed in the writing of this short Disorderly Elements story. Takes place after Book 4 ("Like a Phoenix") and in the quiet stolen moments of Book 7 ("Like a Dervish.")
- Three Solstice Gifts: Disorderly Elements Short Stories
Three friends and lovers watch the log burn on the longest night of the year, welcoming the Sun into Pittsburgh again. Watch Ash, Cooper, and Sig bend their powers to their will on this magical night – and, perhaps, discover something entirely unexpected. This heartwarming short story of love among three men is best enjoyed after Book 4 of the Disordelry Elements, "Like a Phoenix."
