About this series

SHE WAS RIPE FOR SEDUCTION

If she hadn't been absolutely desperate, Margaret McLoughlin never would have hired the very rogue who'd wronged her family to guide her through perilous bandit territory...and wouldn't now be standing face to face with the bare-chested scoundrel with the six-gun strapped to his muscular thigh and his insolent gaze hotly raking her body! But her mother was trapped in the legendary Copper Canyons, and Rafe Delgado was the only man alive who could get her safely out. So the gently-bred innocent would just have to ignore the sinful half-Spaniard's seductive charms, refuse to grant him even one kiss and just pray he never learned her shameful secret: that she burned for him with a fiery yearning only he could satisfy!

HE WAS READY FOR LOVE

Let the lady think he was leading her into Mexico for the money. Rafe didn't need any starchy schoolteacher asking a lot of dangerous questions...especially with the country on the brink of war. He'd take her where she wanted to go--and take care that she never discovered his other identity: as El Aguila, Mexican savior! But the deeper they ventured into treacherous territory, the more the hot-blooded, onetime revolutionary craved the azure-eyed enchantress's exquisite caress. Soon, he'd sweep her into his searing embrace and plunder her hidden treasures...with a passion that would make her his for the taking--now and forever!!

Previously published as Caress of Fire SHE GOT WHAT SHE WANTED Lisette Keller has always dreamed of opening up a millinery shop in Chicago. But first she has to get there. Taking a job as a cook on a cattle drive certainly wasn’t part of her dream, but then so wasn’t the iron-jawed rancher running the whole operation. Maybe it’s the way he wears his Stetson or the steely gaze underneath the brim drinking her in, but when he touches her, it’s like a dream she never wants to end . . . HE FOUND WHAT HE NEEDED When the spirited beauty applied for the cook opening, Gil McLoughlin was doubtful she could handle the long hot trail from Texas to Abilene. But he was also tempted by thoughts of what she could handle. Against his better judgment, he not only hires Lisette, but soon enough, under a starry night sky, he gives in to every temptation she lights up inside him. From that point on, where they’re heading no longer matters. Home had found them in their lasting embrace . . .

PASSION TEMPTED HER Charity McLoughlin had gotten herself into another mess. Her wealthy family had disowned her, her purse was empty—and worst of all, she'd been tricked into smuggling Texas silver into Mexico. Now the law was after her. She wasn't sure whether being abducted by a ruggedly handsome stranger who called himself Hawk meant her fortunes were looking up or down. The one thing she didn't doubt was the fiery attraction she felt for this hard-muscled man. Perhaps she wouldn't try to get away just yet. Instead, maybe for just one night, she would surrender to the raging desires that his slightest touch stirred in her . . . DESIRE ENSLAVED HIM David Fierce Hawk had decided long ago that he'd take one of the McLoughlin daughters as his wife because of the kindness and beauty he'd seen in their mother. But he wasn't sure he wanted this daughter—Charity, the blue-eyed hellcat he'd agreed to bring back to the family fold. She was certainly in a good deal of trouble. And Hawk had been betrayed by those he'd tried to help before, including his Osage Indian tribesmen. But for now, he was willing to forget the future. He was alone with Charity under the starry Texas skies, and his lustful thoughts could not be denied. He'd not pass up this chance to twine his hands through her glorious sable locks, and sample the lush pleasures that this wild and lovely woman offered. . . .   Praise for Martha Hix "A romantic mixture of sensitivity, humor and spice, Martha Hix's delicious love story offers a refreshingly atypical heroine.”—RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars, on Terrific Tom "Hix pens a fast-paced gem filled with playful repartee, a vivacious heroine and a dreamy hero that will make readers sigh with delight.”—RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars, on What to Do about Baby “Filled with humor . . . and a wealth of love. Enjoy!”—RT Book Reviews on Magic and the Texan “An entertaining book that combines mysticism with danger.”—RT Book Reviews on Destiny’s Magic “Martha Hix has given an Arabian Nights tale a new twist, with an unusual genie and plenty of Civil War action.”—RT Book Reviews on River Magic

Author

Martha Hix

Martha Hix -- author of 15 romance novels, one medieval novella, and a section of the Lair of the Wolf continuing story at Romance Communications that will soon be published by Leisure Books -- finds herself amazed that life can be this grand. Recently one of the six writer-celebrity emcees in the Mr. Romance Cover Model Pageant, sponsored by ROMANTIC TIMES Magazine aboard Carnival Cruise Line's m/s Celebration, as well as being the organizer of the RT Spice Girls, Martha enjoys a splendid personal life along with an amazing career...for, she says, "a fat girl." Martha's newest book addresses the issue of being fat and being satisfied with it. Terrific Tom, a Silhouette Special Edition available in mid June of this year, has received fantastic support for looking the issue of weight in the eye and saying, "So what?" Her books have been translated into an assortment of foreign languages, some of them very foreign--like Japanese, Mandarin, Greek, and Turkish. Her historicals, Destiny's Magic and Mail Order Man, were finalists in the HOLT Medallion competition, an award for literary excellence determined by readers across the nation. "The best 'literary excellence,'" Martha says, "comes from the wonderful letters I receive from readers." A Texas native and resident whose family has been in the Lone Star State since the 1840s, Martha says with her trademark grin, "I enjoy writing. I get to be in charge." She has a couple of daughters, a couple of grandkids, and a couple of pets, but only one husband. She says, "He's great. I don't know how he puts up with me, not to mention my moods and antics. But I'm glad he does." If Martha could have three wishes on a magic lamp? "Great health for my family. Great health for myself. And that chocolate eclairs weren't fattening. But since they are, so what?" On a trip to the Copper Canyon in Mexico, Martha and her traveling companion, Evelyn Rogers, put their Spanish to the test, asking everyone, "What famous person, living or dead, would you most like to meet?" We asked Martha the same question, and she replied, "Golda Mier. She was an American woman of simple origins, not beautiful, yet she rose to lead Israel. I'd love to ask what fired her soul, what made her happy and sad. Why Israel was important to her." Recently Martha became pals with multi-published author and cover model, the gorgeous and talented SUSAN PAUL. Martha and Susan have formed the Podners writing team to explore various forms of fiction.
