The arrival of an invisible ghost pirate ship in Plymouth Sound is the start of another series of paranormal events that must be dealt with by those in the mysterious Grey. Why can only they see it? What brought it to Plymouth? Why is the cemetery guardian worried? But the events are stranger than even the Grey could imagine as they find their entire existence jeopardised by what has lain hidden underneath Plymouth’s Central Park for hundreds of years.

Singing stones? Cars turning into dragons? All in a day’s work for the Grey, Plymouth’s secret defence against paranormal attacks in the city. But things take a serious turn when Frank, the Grey’s leader, mysteriously disappears. With the rest of the Grey making sure the city’s weirdness level doesn’t hit critical, it’s up to Alex, Frank’s grandson, to search for answers in the Grey’s potentially deadly, historical Archive. Can the current problems be related to the ‘Strawberry jam’ urban myth that originated in Victorian times? Or even the strange issues Brunel encountered while building the Albert Bridge across the River Tamar? But, as Alex discovers, the answers lie even further back in the history of the Grey. Back to the 17th Century and the introduction into Britain of the ‘China drink’. And to a secret war being fought underneath Plymouth Hoe.

Reality around Plymouth is, shall we say, slightly iffy, even at the best of times. But even worse is when different dimensions get mucked about with. The Plymouth Grey – the secret group that protects Plymouth against paranormal threats – know this more than most as throughout their history they've dealt with attacks originating from dimensions far different to our own. A Grey operation on Halloween takes on a distinct turn for the weird for Misha and Cruz when they're thrown into another reality and meet someone they never expected to see. As it is this would be strange enough, only they discover something far worse is happening – dimensions are being destroyed. And ours could be the next in line. But how can Misha and Cruz survive against vicious nightmare beasts roaming the countryside, let alone stop the dimension killer before it reaches our own?

The year is 1812. Europe is being torn up by the wars against Napoleon, the navies of independent America and britain are harassing each other in the North Atlantic, and construction of the Breakwater - the Nation's Great Endeavour - has begun in Plymouth Sound. But the Grey, the secret group that protects Plymouth against Paranormal threats, have more important issues to deal with. One of which concerns a blue door, and the other has lots of tentacles and a bad attitude. Alan, the leader of the Grey, has given the task of training the Kraken to the Grey's newest members - Horace (Mr Edwards) and Eugenie (Miss Hall). Unfortunately things aren't going to plan. When a body washes up on the shore asparking fears of a murderer on the loose in Plymouth it becomes a race against time for the Grey to deal with the monster before it kills again. Or will they run out of chocolate first?

Sometimes the monsters aren't paranormal.   Sir Malcolm Bradbury, Knight of the Realm and a man whose ambitious greed and avarice lets him destroy lives, is slowly taking control of the City of Plymouth leaving the dead bodies of his victims in his wake. The Plymouth Grey, the secret group protecting Plymouth against paranormal threats, know that they are the only people able to put a stop to his reign of terror. But how can they do so without calling unwanted attention upon themselves? Their plans take shape when a cargo ship arrives back in Plymouth, and its captain becomes a vital piece in the strangest horse race ever witnessed by Queen Victoria at the Chelson Meadow racecourse.   But have the Grey done enough to defeat a human monster?
