About this series
In December 1889 a group of ranch-hands and a country doctor are marooned for a long, cold night in a cabin. To pass the time, they each decide to tell a yarn or true story - and there are some excellent ones! An Arizonan cattle drive intercepted by rustlers, an encounter with Wild Bill Hickok, an Indian who catches rattlesnakes for a living, a gun-runner called Hookey Cross... not to mention the prospector who accidentally blew up a mountain. A quirky and often touching set of recollections with more than a few surprises!

Arrows, bullets and punches fly in this, the first of the 'WESTERNS' series. Full of historical detail, with the author's trademark twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the very end. WARPATHS & PEACEMAKERS consists of SIX GREAT BOOKS under one cover by master story-teller ED GARRON. In the first book, 'CROSS-GUN CAIRNS', a notorious gunfighter, turns up in a small Utah town where the two Fitzpatrick brothers uphold the law. The citizens expect an arrest; but this is easier said than done... In the second story mountain man BIGFOOT BRIGGS, encounters outlaws, Indians, and the army, with a variety of unpredictable outcomes. Next comes the shocking 'WARPATHS & PEACEMAKERS' in which a small incident in a north-western trading post leads to a full-scale Indian uprising. The fourth book tells of 'THE PRAIRIE THIEF' in which you will encounter a seventeen year-old who, surrounded by Ute Indians, fights hand to hand and astounds friend and foe alike with his deadly talents. Look out for the rebel yell in that one, it's worth waiting for. 'HANGING FEVER' is about a range war, a vendetta... enough said. The final book is 'THE MAN FROM FORT DEFIANCE'. Never judge a frontiersman by his appearance. Skinny Rivers, a man of few words, rides into town on an exhausted nag, and seems friendly enough... until he gets wind of a fight, that is. Six Stories... Six great books of the Old Frontier. 'WARPATHS & PEACEMAKERS' will give you a more than a few shocks and surprises... these are Westerns - with a difference!

Outlaw Matty McCray is young, arrogant and fearless - until he gets caught. As he discovers, there is only one thing more dangerous than being hunted by sheriff Luke Summers - and that is being recruited as one of his deputies! See Book One 'THE PLAINS OF ARIZONA' to find out what happens. If you like WESTERNS, and WESTERN FICTION this is the book for you. This is not your usual run-of-the-mill western... as usual, ED GARRON takes his readers on an emotional roller-coaster ride through the Old West. The stories are gritty and realistic, full of little details that bring the nineteenth century to life. Though the terrain seems picturesque enough, we are face to face with stern lawmen, violent outlaws, a pair of timber wolves raised as pets, an attempt to rescue trapped miners using explosives, and incompetent Civil War army officers with their men surrounded by the enemy... heck, what could possibly go wrong? There are six novellas – as follows: 1. THE PLAINS OF ARIZONA 2. THE MARK OF CAIN 3. THE TIMBER WOLVES 4. THE GUNS THEY ROARED 5. THEY CARRIED DYNAMITE 6. WILD AS THE WIND! There is even a bonus story 'NEW FACE AT COMANCHE PEAKS' Perhaps the unifying theme is that the West is full of unexpected twists and turns - danger - excitement - good - bad... be prepared for the unexpected!
