The Marvellous Land of Oz: Being an Account of the Further Adventures of the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman, and is often shortened to “The Land of Oz.” This is the second of L. Frank Baum's books set in the Land of Oz, and is the sequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This and the next 34 Oz books of the famous 40 were illustrated by John R. Neill. This book has 14 full-page colour plates plus over 130 pen-and-ink drawings. The events are set shortly after the events in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and after Dorothy Gale's departure back to Kansas. Our protagonist of the novel is an orphan boy called Tip who has been under the guardianship of a cruel Wicked Witch named Mombi (the main antagonist) and lives in the northern quadrant of Oz called Gillikin Country. Mombi has always been extremely mean and abusive to Tip always threatening to transform him into a marble statue to punish him for his mischievous ways. To avoid being turned into a marble statue, Tip runs away with Jack Pumpkinhead stealing the Powder of Life. He uses it to animate the wooden Sawhorse for Jack to ride. In book four of the adventures in Oz books, we find Dorothy Gale back home in Kansas. One day, she and her pet dog Toto meet the Shaggy Man who comes walking past the Gale farm. He is a friendly, yet slightly senile hobo with an optimistic, care free attitude. He politely asks Dorothy for directions to Butterfield, which is the nearest town on the prairie. The girl agrees to show him the way, bringing her dog with her. Further on, the road splits into seven paths. They take the seventh one and soon find themselves lost in what appears to be a strange land. The trio meets Button-Bright, a cute and wealthy little boy in a sailor's outfit who is always getting lost. Later, the companions encounter Polychrome, the beautiful and ethereal Daughter of the Rainbow who is stranded on earth. On their journey, the companions eventually come to the peculiar town of Foxville, where anthropomorphic foxes live. With prompting from King Dox of Foxville. Further on they come to Dunkiton and meet King Kik-a-Bray. Later they meet the Musicker, who produces music from his breath, and end up fighting off the Scoodlers, who have a peculiar method of fighting. They manage to cross the Deadly Desert completely surrounding Oz. Upon reaching Oz, Dorothy and her companions are warmly welcomed by old friends and celebrate Dorothy’s return with a great banquet. But did it really happen or was it another dream…….? OZMA of OZ is the Third Book in the Books of Oz series by L. Frank Baum and is illustrated by John R. Neill. It has been five years since The Wonderful Wizard of Oz took place. Uncle Henry has been ordered by his doctor to take a vacation from the stress and labor of having to replace the Kansas farmhouse due to the first one being swept away in a cyclone. He decides to take a restful sea journey accompanied by his adolescent niece, Dorothy Gale (this is the first of the Oz books in which the reader learns her last name), aboard a small steamship headed to Australia while Aunt Em and Dorothy's pet dog Toto, stay behind to look after the newly built farmhouse. While travelling on the sea, a terrible storm suddenly hits, bringing rain and lightning, tossing the little ship violently over the waves. Henry and Dorothy are separated when she is accidentally thrown overboard and cast away into the water along with Billina, a yellow hen that was also on board. While adrift, they take refuge in a wooden chicken-coop floating nearby. The next morning Dorothy and Billina wash ashore to an unknown region. Once on dry land, Dorothy picks something to eat from a lunch-box tree. She guesses that they are in a "fairy country" because lunch boxes do not grow on trees in ordinary countries, and only in a fairy country would an animal like Billina be able to talk. However, Dorothy knows they are not in the Land of Oz because that country has no coastline. After the meal they come across a message inscribed in the sand: "BEWARE THE WHEELERS"! What does this warning mean and just who, or what, are the wheelers. Once again Baum has authored a book which book contains oh so much detail. Along with the illustrations of John R. The story of “The Patchwork Girl” first published by L. Frank Baum in 1913, is a children's novel, the 7th set in the “Land of Oz” series. Our story goes this…….“Ojo the Unlucky” is a young Munchkin boy who is devoted to life with his uncle Unc Nunkie in the wilderness. Tik-Tok of Oz is the eighth “Land of Oz” book written by L. Frank Baum, published on June 19, 1914. The book is primarily the quest of the Shaggy Man (introduced in The Road to Oz) to rescue his brother, and his resulting conflict with the Nome King. The Shaggy Man relates how Ozma sent him here via the Magic Belt because he wanted to find his brother, who went digging underground in Colorado and disappeared. He surmised that the Nome King, ruler of the underground Nome Kingdom, captured him. They meet up with Polychrome the Rainbow's Daughter, and they rescue Tik-Tok from the well where the Nome King had tossed him. Once Tik-Tok is wound up, he accompanies Betsy, Hank, the Shaggy Man, Ozga, and Polychrome to their chance encounter with Queen Ann and her army. In a rage, Queen Ann orders them to be seized and bound, but Private Files — the only private in this army of generals, colonels, and majors — refuses to bind innocent girls. He resigns his commission on the spot. When Queen Ann learns of the riches to be found in the Nome King's underground kingdom, she calms down and accepts the services of Tik-Tok as her new private. The Nome King (who has recovered from having drunk the Water of Oblivion in The Emerald City of Oz) is aghast at this group coming toward his underground kingdom. Since no one can be killed in Oz, the Nome King seeks to discourage them, first by taking them through the Rubber Country, and then disposing of them by dropping them through the Hollow Tube, a conduit leading to the other side of the world. Little Wizard Stories of Oz is a set of six short stories of Oz written for young children by L. Frank Baum, the creator of the Oz books. The six tales were originally published in separate small booklets titled "Oz Books in Miniature," in 1913, and then in a collected edition in 1914. This collated edition contains 49 illustrations by John R. Neill, the majority are full-page colour plates. All the usual Oz characters can be found in these stories – Dorothy, Toto, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, Tik-Tok, the Nome King, Ozma, the Little Wizard, Jack Pumpkinhead and the Hungry Tiger. “Queen Zixi of Ix” was written by L Frank Baum, author of the many books in the Oz series and illustrated by F Richardson with 86 exquisitely detailed drawings. Our story starts on the night of a full moon, the fairies ruled by Queen Lurlene are dancing in the Forest of Burzee. Lurlene calls a halt to it, for "one may grow weary even of merrymaking". To divert themselves, another fairy recommends that they make something they can imbue with fairy magic. After several ideas are considered and rejected, the fairies decide to make a magic cloak that can grant its wearer one wish. The fairy who proposed it, Espa, and Queen Lulea agree that such a cloak will benefit mortals greatly. However, its wish-granting power cannot be used if the cloak is stolen from its previous wearer. After the fairies finish the golden cloak, Ereol arrives from the kingdom of Noland whose king has just died. On the advice of the Man in the Moon, Ereol is dispatched to Noland to give the magic cloak to the first unhappy person she meets. The deed done the fairies return to Fairyland and they watch and wait to see what happens – and some amazing things do happen which lead to adventures across Noland and Ix. Some amazing things are wished for and given with the magic cloak. But what are they. Well you’ll have to download and read this book for yourself. At some point word of the cloak spreads afar and Queen Zixi hears of it and desires it for herself. At some point the cloak is stolen and the search is on. During the search for the cloak many journeys have to be taken to find it.  On the way our intrepid adventurers are flown to the Palace of the Witch Queen and later they encounter and defeat the Roly-Rogues, monsters which have invaded Noland.
