    Carol Marinelli wurde in England geboren. Gemeinsam mit ihren schottischen Eltern und den beiden Schwestern verbrachte sie viele glückliche Sommermonate in den Highlands. Nach der Schule besuchte Carol einen Sekretärinnenkurs und lernte dabei vor allem eines: Dass sie nie im Leben Sekretärin werden wollte! Also machte sie eine Ausbildung zur Krankenschwester und arbeitete fünf Jahre lang in der Notaufnahme. Doch obwohl Carol ihren Job liebte, zog es sie irgendwann unwiderstehlich in die Ferne.
