About this series

Scotland 1556

Are loyalty and honour more important than love?

After overhearing a plot to kill Mary Queen of Scots, Abby Gordon is sent from Paris to the Laird of Glenorchy's home at Kilchurn Castle for safety. Disguised as a boy, she becomes a lute player among the household musicians where she encounters the laird's hostage, the attractive Iain MacGregor, a pawn in the laird's struggle for power in Scotland's turbulent politics. But is Iain really a hostage to fortune or is he playing his own dangerous game? As Abby's feelings intensify for this Glenorchy hostage she is caught in the web of intrigue that takes her to the courts of France & Scotland as well as the noble houses of the highland chiefs endangering both herself and her heart. Filled with breath taking emotional drama, intrigue and romance, the novel takes the reader on an adventure through the Scottish Tudor Period.

Praise for the series: 'A highland ballad brought to life - plays sweetly on the heart-strings.' Jean Gill, 'The Troubadours Quartet'

A Highland holiday historical romance filled with fun, intrigue and love from a USA Today bestselling author.   Snow is in the air at Glen Strae and Yuletide is approaching, a time of celebrations. But Abby has her own private sorrow and any hope of overcoming it before the holiday season is dashed when Iain tells her that he must leave to collect his brother from St Andrews. Abby knows it's a lie because to leave Glen Strae puts Iain at risk for his name and his life. He still insists he must go and it makes her fear his real reason for leaving, that his love is fading. Her doubts and suspicions take her to Stirling Castle where she finds her parents in danger once more and she realises she must not only rescue them, but also her heart.
