Will Talbot, my favorite spy and the love of my life, wants my help on his covert mission in China to recover a list of double agents for the US government. I am so-o going to love this! I have to pretend we're husband and wife when he accompanies me on my China tour. The tour members are strangers we'll never see again, and we can spend three intimate weeks together. How hard can that be? Surprise! My parents show up on the tour as cancellation replacements. Now, we have to tell them we're married to protect Will's cover. Harriet tackles her first covert assignment to investigate smuggled artwork while Will's mission is to locate and destroy a group of terrorists recruiting young computer experts. Their marriage plans hit a snag when Will locates a long-lost cousin with startling news about his heritage. When the artwork being smuggled has particular significance to one of the terrorist sympathizers, their missions entangle and begin to unravel, leaving Will at the mercy of terrorist kidnappers and Harriet holding the bag.

Finally, I'm tying the knot with Will Talbot, my favorite spy and the love of my life, despite my nagging concerns about his dangerous profession. He could get killed! At Will's suggestion, we get married at city hall, hire a wedding planner, and then take off on our honeymoon before the church ceremony. The first leg of our trip is a hot air balloon safari in Africa—well, it sounded like fun at the time—but afterward, we'll have two quiet, relaxing weeks totally alone. When a member of our tour is kidnapped, I learn Will accepted an assignment from the US government to keep the kidnap victim under surveillance—after he'd promised me his full attention. All my doubts about the marriage raise their ugly heads. Have I jumped the gun? Sure, we love each other, but is that enough to make this marriage work? It won't matter if we don't get out alive.
