Evolution & The Legacy of Ash Series

My week started fairly average.  New term at school.  Looking forward to 'girl's night out' this weekend.  Had to cover an orientation for prospective students on campus.  All relatively normal stuff…right?  That is how my life had run for really close to two whole decades now.  Ok, I wasn't entirely human.  However, to my non-supernatural friends I was just extremely paranoid about melanoma, so I habitually abuse sun protection products…that's not weird.  I could have possibly fit the physical stereotype for a supernatural in this realm…but in miniature form.  I was not tall, leggy, or sexy in my opinion.  I was short, had no ability to maintain any weight so a stiff wind could knock me down, my hair lacked luster and was such an off shade of blond it would never be bottled on a store shelf.  I am terrified of needles, I am horribly self-conscious and insecure (whether in my abilities or just about my lack of height), and I am a slight bit of a germ-a-phoebe.  None of which a vampire would ever be concerned with…ok that might be weird. Funny as it sounds…That is just the short list of my problems.  I found out in a blink the entire world could go bat-crap crazy and what used to be significant before…easily forgotten the first time you shoot someone when you, as the world, happen to go bat-crap crazy!  Yeah…my weekend…didn't go as the normal 'girl's night out' should have.  I did meet the very stereotypical heartthrob vampire who in fact swept me off my feet saving me from a most devastating demise.  His payment…I change his entire existence as well.  I even drug his friends and my family along…because I am just that awesome of a gal!

Prequel Now Available! With training now complete and everyone back home…Erik and I are finally catching up with our new relationship status, beyond just roomies as before.  Oh, there's some laundry in there too.  We have avoided potential war, chased dragon tails, got smack with red herrings, and finally passed all that…we managed to solve the case.  Or did we?  It wasn't long before Erik interrupted 'happy Ashleigh fun-time' by answering the stupid phone.  With the raise of a brow, we were now on to the next case.  "Well we did have to shower first.  Tee!  Hee!" "Erik…right in the middle of something here.  Outta my head please." Ok…so some children were kidnapped during a home invasion at the property of a coven not far from us.  Cool…our first official mission as full Agents.  Not cool…dad's hotel reservation in the rotten part of town near one of the many tourist hotspots in Belize.  So…I pulled an 'Ash' and fixed it.  Turning this into a work/vacation of our dreams.  Talia and I managed to bring our mothers, Erik's parents, and heck we even got the Commander to stop by and set for a spell. Our little reunion was nearly cut short by strange occurrences, mainly involving me.  I had been deeply affected by dark magic someone was trying to use on me to interfere with this case.  However, we couldn't figure out "who" or 'why'.  So instead of enjoying the sun and the sand…everyone got involved in the work.  (Except the 'mom squad'…they were still on vacation…and have the shopping bags to prove it.)  The strangest connection was how deeply tied to our training case this really was.  Someone dropped the ball on the first case…so I still apparently was needed dead…and there had been a plan in place all along to do just that.  Although, that crazy doc and Madame Chairman both deceases…so who was finishing this off?  Or trying to finish me off anyway. After much tedious research, not nearly as bad as at training; we were back to chasing tails, finding information that in no way applied to our circumstances, there was some fun in there too, and then we solved the case.  We even managed to endure the most unexpected love connection between Uncle Kenny and our former dorm czar Ms. Desmond…whom we've come to know and love at Katerina.  Leading to a surprise ending that still chokes me up just to think off.

Evolution slow to start, Brendan is in a lurch after contacted to track some stolen artifacts meant to have been delivered to a fellow Hunter and Curator of a museum in Denmark.  However, neither the items…nor actual caller…even exists.  Not even originating in the same zip code.  With the help of Ash, Legacy, and the agency…will Evolution ever get off the ground?  Where will this lead the team? "We're a boring species, since we gave up the chase?"  Brendan Parker Since you asked…on a wild-goose chase, where our cases always end up.  This time…it's a foreign country, on another continent….and some significant property damage.  All fixable.  A new twisted historic backstory that only has part to do with the story but needed to be told anyway.  Still fascinating.   Or there's the ghost that keeps coming back.  Eventually Erik will just run out of his own apartment.  Aww…the baggage girlfriends bring when they move in.  Good stuff! Lots of changes with Evolution and Legacy.  It's hard making a significant change, when you're not even really welcome in your own world.  But you always get by with a little help from your friends.  Or an excessive amounts of help as we always seem to require. And there's the ghost that likes to hang out in your bed eavesdropping on your conversation with your boyfriend because he misses interaction. "Oh no.  I expect a full scale ambush if she coaxes me outside or they trap us in here and destroy the place."  Agent Ash "Wow Nancy…sure sounding negative today."  Erik, the Man  (Find out why around page 54…just saying)

I thought my life was crazy before…yeah…should have probably addressed that 'turned' thing before we closed at five today.  The issue…no longer insignificant!  I've been receiving weird messages at work and feeling as being followed for some time.  I blew it all off at first…until some local incidents drew our focus back to the existence of more created 'turned' that aren't going away.  I started sleepwalking again too and having this dream about a cave in a mountain where something is calling for help.  We can't put any of it together ourselves.  Unknown to us, our little world, was set on a path for collision…with worlds we never knew existed.  "We knew about our world and the other realm."  Erik's smiling face, telepathically breaking my inner monolog. I giggle.  "Yes…I knew it was there, but never knew the people.  Get out of my head so I can finish my thought." Anyway…our newest case warps our world even farther then it was twisted before.  Discoveries from the other realm surface.  And…I found out what spirit was calling me to the mountains…and why?  Met some pretty cool people along the way.  Really left me saying to myself, as I scratched my head.  "How small is this town?  Really?"  Although that Native American lady didn't seem too happy with our presence at all.  "And those guys…they had to be altered…no one is that huge without taking growth hormones or something.  The one even made Thomas say 'DAMN'." "Erik…WE are the ones not average size for our species." "Wait…You said I was a 'stereotypical vampire'.  I am also 'unaltered'."  Erik scoffs. "Sweetie…I meant you're pretty, like a stereotypical vampire." "Oh sure…now you tell me size doesn't matter."  We laugh hysterical hearing 'Dear God!'  from Ray in our heads at Erik's comment. There's just too much to explain…so please…join us on our adventures to stay as close to home as possible, while still making ourselves useful of course.  Biding our time until my little cousins arrive.  Find out the answer to the craziest questions that arises from this…What happens when worlds collide?  Individual beliefs systems are tested.  All of this ends with one crazy chase to find a mermaid and a stunning selfie with Bigfoot.  Trust me…had to be there!  There is no way to adequately describe how messed up my world is…just buckle up…and enjoy the ride.

As all our favorite stories…yes…even this tale must conclude.  In this final epilogue, book ending the Evolution & the Legacy of Ash series, with its prequel, we find out how all our character's lives have changed throughout this adventure.  There are still adventures to be had.  Life isn't ending and the world will still spin.  There is always just more work that needs to be done.  Thankfully, we have finally put an end to any and all interference, or lasting damage the doc and others left in their wake.  Worlds have come together and now we find out what they each can offer the other as benefits to their union.  Did the gang ever train with Kyra…or Anna?  What could Ash and the others offer Sarah and Kaleb's business since they too deal with the supernatural elements of life?  These and many more questions will be asked and answered in this final farewell to some very interesting friends. This story will offer many things as did the others…yet there will be one final mystery to solve…and Erik has taken charge of that after finding questionable evidence in his own bathroom possibly belonging to one of only three people.  Whom does this belong to?  How will Erik solve this mystery?  What other trouble can Ash stir up before he can solve that mystery? Don't worry…we'll cover the impromptu celebratory trip to Hawaii.  Three unique worlds sharing neighboring beach houses…you weren't going to be left hanging!  This is going to be so awesome!
