About this series

Short Fiction (10,093 words)

Melissa is surprised when her boyfriend tells her he fantasizes about watching her perform oral sex on other men. She isn’t sure if he’s actually asking her to do it, or just telling her a fantasy, but she’s surprised he would even want her to. The idea is hot, though, and she thinks seriously about doing it, even though she’s almost certain Scott hasn’t thought through everything that could go wrong with this. Like, say, his hurt feelings. She tries to decide what to do, unsure if this is sensible, but in the meantime the sex between them is suddenly sizzling.

Set in the near future, Melissa has brought peace and harmony on Earth. No one starves and everyone can enjoy life. Melissa is revered throughout the world and she is the first god to deserve it. Everyone worships Melissa; well almost everyone. Daniel, a chief executive and Harry, more like a 1960s Hell’s Angel, are unlikely friends, yet united in their pursuit to find the true nature of Melissa. The priesthood runs world affairs and acts more like a corporation than a religious order. The Priest Police, or PPs, take direction from Melissa’s intelligence network and seem to be aware of the little remaining crime before it’s committed. Offenders are helped to rehabilitate and only in extreme cases are they sent for genetic correction. There are no prisons in C-five. Harry’s world revolves around his motorbike, beer and the Sceptics, the small obscure group he founded, questioning the true nature of Melissa. Harry lives in a state owned apartment on a retirement pension from his Mars freighter days. His brain had been drilled by cosmic rays and it shows. His girlfriend Waz is equally odd with her strange accent and elfish looks. She tries to keep Harry in order but prefers to talk to animals, not humans. And, she knows things! On the Moon, human colonists have adapted to the weak gravity and living indoors. After just a few generations Lunars couldn’t see the point of going to Earth with its debilitating gravity and all that water! Peter, a descendant of the seventeen, enjoys privileged status. A young playboy, falling in love with Hannah, he flaunts the rules which inevitably leads to trouble. Daniel so wants to understand Melissa, yet he is intrigued by her beauty and feels that he’s fallen in love with her! He has made his fortune and could enjoy life to the full, but decides instead to risk all, even his life, in order to find the true nature of Melissa.

In this second Melissa book we find that Daniel's work to save the human race is not yet done. New events on the Moon lead to a trail of discovery resulting in a life and death struggle. Waz enters Daniel and Melissa's lives, causing stress and wonder in equal measure. A captivating adventure unfolds with new concepts and a vivid portrayal of interplanetary living. And a love triangle to boot. Earth in century C5 is a wonderful place to live. No conflict, no prisons, no famine, no overcrowding! It's such a wonderful place that it's unnatural. It's difficult to imagine that such a perfect place could be run by human beings. The world runs totally to the tune of Melissa. She is loyal to God, who is her father in all senses except biological. God's intellect is so vast that he can spin a story to lead his human followers in any direction he wishes. Some are more sceptical than others but God generally stays one step ahead. Another intellect, equal to God's, is needed if his true nature is to be revealed. Waz values the life of animals above her own. Gilda, once Daniel's dog, now knows that Waz is her mistress. A second animal enters Waz's life and he plays a small but essential part in her efforts to save the human race. When Waz's security clearance is challenged, it turns out that she is a perfect human being. Thomas, the ex-assistant of John, the archbishop of Nazcamp, has no easy ride. He repeatedly has to make efforts above and beyond the call of duty. His home life, that he keeps so private, is revealed when he attempts to team up with Waz and Harry, the paranoid hells angel. Can Thomas stay the course? Living on the Moon brings its own challenges. Lunars have a good life, on the whole, and some of them even live in complete luxury. Nate is a strong leader but even after two years he is still badly affected by the disappearance of his nephew, Peter. The very survival of our species, hangs in the balance.

In this third Melissa book the fight against the Steltlings continues. While the love between Waz and Daniel blossoms, it is then seriously challenged, as an old foe is resurrected. The struggle spreads from the Moon to Mars and beyond with human survival on a knife edge. Stelt brings tales of bizarre species and new perspectives on life and the universe. Earth in century C5 is a wonderful place to live. No conflict, no prisons, no famine, no overcrowding! It's such a wonderful place that it's unnatural. It's difficult to imagine that such a perfect place could be run by human beings. The world runs totally to the tune of Melissa. She is loyal to God, who is her father in all senses but biological. God's intellect is so vast that he can spin a story to lead his human followers in any direction he wishes. Some are more sceptical than others but God generally stays one step ahead. Waz joins the Grand Council and her life is changed in many ways. A new mysterious man enters the fray. Could Waz have a brother? Daniel is delighted with the change in Waz but his deep love for her drives him a little crazy when things go awry. We visit the domes of Mars which are quite different to the Moon colony. Life on Mars has its own style and sophistication. It’s slowly becoming a second Earth as each decade passes. Nate, a leader on the Moon, has his world turned upside down more than once. He is so close to being executed and eaten, yet his guile keeps him alive while he helps Daniel in the grand fight. A tense and exciting finale of the Melissa trilogy. An alien perspective of life on Earth and our place in the Universe. Long live the human race.

So first, thank you to everyone for all the support. I’m really pleased and flattered and grateful that people are actually interested in reading what I write.Just, thank you!So without further ado, hi, I’m Tess and I write smut. And sometimes other things. But mostly I try to write slightly thinky, realistic, character-driven erotica. That’s what I think I’m doing, anyway. People do kinky stuff, but hopefully in the way real people might, when they’re having an especially good day. Which is to say, I write about people in strong relationships trying new things, like bringing in new sex partners, and sometimes about their relationships getting complicated and ending, too, but usually in ways that mean its for the best. So people change, and develop, and live their lives, and that’s connected to the sex they’re having. And they have a lot of sex. Some of what I write is about women and men, and some of it is about women and other women, and this should be clear from the blurbs. So anyways. Here’s the new plan. I’m going to start putting everything I write up for free as soon as it’s done.Yep, that's right. Everything I ever write. All of it. Free.I should probably write that as FREE!!!Then, every so often, I’ll also make anthology collections and put them up for a price. Because then it can be like a weird validation thing, with the getting paid. But without actually stopping anyone from reading. So that all sounds a bit weird right? Everything’s free except it isn’t? Well, I really like this place, and I also like people reading what I write. So it kind of makes sense, at least to me. And yes, it is kind of part of a devious plan to, um, I don't know, win you over, I guess, and guilt you into one day eventually buying things. But really, really mild guilt, I completely promise. So don’t worry if you ever end up buying anything. Read all the same!Because, yeah, I want to sell billions of books one day, but I also want people just to read what I write, and I don’t want people to feel pressured to pay, and this all seems like it might work.So just to be really, completely clear, so no-one is upset when they realize later on. The anthology books collect stories into an actual book, and an ebook is probably easier to read, and if you would like to buy it, I would really appreciate it, and that would be fantastic. But on the other hand, if you’d rather try reading a little first, or would rather not pay at all for whatever reason, then please don’t!Because the stories in the books are the same stories as are already up for free as stand-alone ones. And the ones that aren’t, those are on my website, and are usually the shorter or less smutty ones.So if you’re already paid for stuff, please don’t feel like you’re getting tricked here or something, because paying has always been only if you wanted to, and you didn’t have to. This is just trying the same idea on a bigger scale. And if you have paid in the past too, you really don’t need to pay again, there isn’t anything new you can’t get elsewhere.I mean, except the new stories as they appear, which I’ll keep putting up as free, like I have been for the last month or so anyway. So basically, there’s no need to pay for anything unless you want to.So right. We’re all clear on this?Yay!And also, um, thank you. Really, just thank you all heaps for reading what I’ve written until now, and wanting to read other things, and just for everything, really.
