      Treasure in the Shawnee Hills opens in pre-Civil War Southern Illinois as five riders on horseback come into an Ohio River port to take a gold cache out of the local bank. The five make it out of town with the gold, but the posse is right behind them. Are they able to elude the posse or are they caught and the coins returned? The answer lies up in the Shawnee Hills! Nearly 150 years later, while on a hunting trip with his brother in the Shawnee Hills, a man discovers a gold coin in the midst of a terrible ice storm. Were there more coins to be discovered like the one he found? If so, where did they come from and where could they be? Treasure in the Shawnee Hills takes us on a twisting journey that involves ancestry/genealogy and a connection between 150 years of American history.

    I am a retired factory worker. I worked for Kraft Foods for 35 years and retired at 55 in 2009. My wife and I live on 23 acres in Central Illinos in the the home town of Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, Gene Hackman, Donald O'Conner, Bobby Short, Astronaut Tanner, and several other celebs including several well known writers and Congressman Uncle Jo Cannon.
