Mac Series

Third in the series. The Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson could never have guessed their actions in their time would have created problems in the twenty-first century. Jefferson in 1803 wanted to reward the Marquis for his services to the new nation by giving him part of the newly acquired Lousiana Purchase. Congress passed a bill that made it so, but Lafayette declined the inheritance. However,the reward automatically passed to his descendants, putting a twenty-first century United States in jeopardy of paying a possible trillon dollars to satisfy the claim. Jefferson hid the bill in one of his books which he planned to recover if Lafayette changed his mind. However, it was forgotten, and ultimately ended up in the Library of Congress collection. A doctoral student in the 21st century finds the ancient paper, and decides to steal it, immediately creating chaos among the US and French governments who previously never knew of its existence. Who has it? The terrorist group headed by Apostle, as well as the old nemesis, Dodson, finds creative ways to profit from its find. Can they bankrupt the US? Frantically, Mac, the Vice President, and his team of CIA and FBI try to recover the document that had been discovered and stolen. It was a race to locate the paper before the nation was faced with financial disaster. Apostle's group and a corrupt part of the French government create a challenge to the team as they move to Paris to attempt the recovery of the document, and to kill their nemesis', Apostle and Dodson. Even Mac's family is in danger as they follow Mac to France. Some members of the team find romance, and this complicates their roles as agents. They are trained to protect each other, but love has a way of distracting their mission. A fatefull turn of events changes the life of Mac and his family, one he never wanted. Kidnappings, murder, and intrigue make this a suspenseful novel that lives up to the excitement of the first two books in the series. The same characters in the first two novels lend a familiarity, while new ones add spice to the series. Exciting action mixed with soft romance makes this a must read, a novel you can't put down.

The fourth and final of the Mac series. Mac, a black ops Marine captain, meets a Navy nurse, Emily, on a carrier during the Gulf War. Their passionate love affair creates jealousy in a fellow Marine who attempts to kill Mac. Emily learns a fact that abrubptly ends her relationship with Mac, leaving him inconsolable. He soon leaves the service to create his civilian life which evolves from CIA to lawyer to politician, as laid out in books 1-3 of the Mac series. Twenty years later while in Paris, Mac accidentally sees Emily in a restaurant, and they renew their ardor, even though Mac is married with a young daughter. A terrorist group is starting to create problems in France with their sinister model of re-establishing a different society using technology as a weapon. Mac directs CIA agents as they infiltrate the terrorist organization in Paris with the mission to destroy the group before they succeed. The characters on both sides seem to switch roles between good and evil as the story unfolds in death and deceit. The terrorist leader, Scorpion, propagates havoc in society, thus creating one thrilling page after another. Emily's relationship to Mac becomes the basis of danger to her as Dodson, Mac's longtime nemesis, attempts to kill her to get even with Mac. Behind the backdrop of adventure, romance and intrigue, Emily carries a secret from her days as a Navy nurse that will dramatically affect Mac's life and his family. Romance and sex are the reality of life amid the carnage and death that the author constructs. The combination makes a fast-paced novel that is difficult to put down.

1st in the series. In an era of rising government entitlements, the executive branch takes a bold, sinister and secret move to develop a biological compound. A handful of top government executives plot to convert America's gene pool from one of normal genes to defective ones that would generate disease and eventual death. The gene pool would ultimately be passed to future generations who would fall victim to the ticking time bomb that creates disease, and that would kill them before their time. That goal, if reached, would reduce or completely eliminate entitlements being paid, since few would ever reach retirement age. However, several people find evidence of the conspiracy, and develop a plan to stop Grayfield Institute from carrying out their diabolical plan. An unlikely team is formed: an attorney who is also a covert CIA agent, a research assistant at Grayfield, a biologist, and two FBI agents. It soon becomes clear that the sinister government entity is not going to allow anyone who knows about the plan outside of their small circle to survive. Twists and turns in the story provide an adventure filled novel, softened by the sensitive love that members of the team experience. During the numerous confrontations the book offers, the evil organization strikes back, almost destroying the team, and providing the reader with many thrill packed pages.

2nd in the series. The war on terror was now over a decade old with nor further attacks on America, but with little progress in resolving the growing suicide bombings. President Matthews, in office for two years, is invited by the President of France to attend D-Day ceremonies at Omaha Beach in Normandy. A French terrorist group has resolved to assassinate the US president. Against the advice of his administration, including Vice President McDonald, he is adamant about honoring the request. As the plans progress, rumors of the planned assassination is circulated but cannot be confirmed. Mac (Vice President) and Connors (FBI Director)fly to Europe to see if there is credence to the rumors. They break away from their secret service guards and end up in a seedy part of Paris, hiring the man who can lead them to critical informants. They have only five weeks before Matthews arrives in Paris for his meeting, and they must elude their secret service protectors as well as finding a way to remove the assassination threat from their president. The secret service is frantic in their search, but cannot reveal to the world that the vice president and the FBI director are missing. However, the CIA is helping Connors and the vice president stay hidden while they search for answers. The book brings back the team from Grayfield in a fast paced adventure novel covering only a six-week period of time from planning to execution, and a surprise ending with a sprinkle of romance.

Book One in the George 'Mac' McClain series. Ex-Special Forces, Ex-Homicide Detective. Mac is broad of shoulder and narrow of hip. He is ruggedly handsome, a trait that naturally attracts women to him. In this first tale of his adventurous life, Mac comes to the rescue of a young woman that inadvertantly witnessed a Federal Judge in the act of committing cold blooded murder. But it's not enough that Mac simply protect her from the Judge and his hired guns, he must draw out the Judge in an effort to get enough evidence if he is to prove that what his witness saw was real. It's not enough to rely on her word against that of a Federal Judge if they go to the police with no other evidence. Unfortunately, Mac sorely under estimates the Judge's resources, and the trap that he so carefully laid might just catch him instead.

Book 2 in the George 'Mac' McClain Action/Adventure series. Mac is manipulated by a beautiful woman named Eddy in need of his help to stop a greedy pharmaceutical company from infecting millions of innocent people with a deadly airborne toxin for the purpose of selling the only vaccine able to combat it-theirs! They are willing to stop at nothing, including murder to see their plans come to fruition. The one thing they havn't anticipated is Mac. Ex-Special Forces, Ex-Homicide Detective, self-proclaimed mercenary for justice and the protection of the innocent.

Book 3 in the George 'Mac' McClain Action/Adventure series. When Mac is tricked into taking on a case by an ex-lover that is trying to break into his line of work, he has no idea that it will take all of his wits and training just to survive. On the run from a Mexican drug cartel that has chased them into the rain forests of Oregon's southern coastal mountain range, Mac is caught between the infatuation of a young girl and the blossoming love of a beautiful woman. When Mac learns that he was duped by Eddy, his ex-lover, his anger is quickly replaced by fear when she is shot in the back and barely clinging to life. Book 4 in the George 'Mac' McClain Action/Adventure series. With Eddy now working as his official partner, Mac takes on the job of protecting a Federal witness in a racketeering case. Soon after taking custody of the witness, they are ambushed by a sweeper team. Mac doesn't believe it's coincidence that they knew where to find them and immediately suspects their contact in the justice department. Not sure where to turn for help, Mac leads them into the wilderness of Northern California where he believes the National Guard is on maneuvers and that he will find a way to use them to his advantage. Heading down a dead-end logging road with killers in hot pursuit, Mac begins to wonder if the only one he's outsmarted is himself.
