- The Helavite War
1
Love character driven scifi? Join Jake and Arr on their adventures. The Helavite War is book #1 of the Star Traveler Adventures “The Helavite War takes me back to when I first read the early science fiction works of Heinlein, Asimov, etc. There is a sense of boldness, innocence and the essential goodness of mankind, wrapped up in a universe that is bigger than we know now and yet navigable by humans.” – JKMohr “Characters stay true and are well developed, great scene description, emotionally engaging and the plot keeps you caught up.” Angie C. Jake is a human mercenary looking for a quiet place to rest, when his Protect Dar-dolf attacks the last living Henu, Arr. Feeling responsible, Jake stays on to care for Arr, as the alien with deep blue cat eyes and unusual abilities recovers. Jake takes on the role of teacher, mentor, father, and lost brother for his new alien friend. He and Arr share adventures dealing with the Hydra, a race of lizard-like creatures who kidnap members of other species to sell on the black market as slaves; battle the Narnon on Gligula where Tuldavian Swamp Lizards lay their traps just below the surface of the slime; and engage in numerous other missions while learning to appreciate each others rare abilities. Ultimately, they must face their toughest foe, the Helavites, a species which has been preying on the weaker beings in the universe for generations. In the underground catacombs of these beetle-like creatures a mystery is solved and the grounds for the resurrection of an old world are laid.
- The Malefactors
In volume 4 of the Star Traveler Series it is the year 30-31 A.R. (After Reestablishment) Garrett and Pon's new marriage threatens to shatter before it even has a chance to flower. Can a child rescued from certain death at the hands of the local Guardians on Goliath's Third Moon be the catalyst to save their marriage? Meanwhile we are led to the rainy, dark planet of Walh. The ruling family has discovered disturbing information about Targus which will send the MT team spiraling out of control. It is only through Terrell's inherited ability to learn languages, and his persistence, that Targus may escape his fate in a society that is scarcely more than medieval in its technology. But in order for Terrell to save his Captain, he must resurrect and conquer the hidden demons he has tried so hard to bury.
- Cataclysm
Meet the Krackow, a species so advanced in their star travel they do not concern themselves with ecologically destroying their 'home' planet. Once the planet becomes uninhabitable they simply move on to another pristine jewel in the galaxy's crown. They have just moved in on the Henu planet bringing with them destruction and disease - a disease that threatens the survival of the Henu colony. Arr and Taylor are testing the waters as partners now that Jake is gone. Taylor's unorthodox winnings from a friendly game of cards prove to be challenging, but ultimately be that prize which will be the answer to the Henu colony's future. The power of love takes on a whole new meaning when the Krackow come face-to-face with someone even their technology cannot surpass.
- The Heirs of Henu
In volume 2 of The Star Traveler Series our mercenaries find themselves embroiled in a drug deal gone bad, in a universe where there is no place to hide. Jake's surrogate dad has inadvertently pulled Jake and Arr into a life-or-death situation. With Arr's life in the balance, assistance from a Galactic Forces Mobile Tactical Team, MT #2424, might be their only option for survival...but will contact with them mean life imprisonment for Jake? How great a sacrifice must a man make for his partner?
- Old Friends/New Enemies
Volume 3 - It has been thirty years since Jake and Arr settled down and gave up the mercenary trade. Arr's life is falling apart. During a spice delivery to Gamma 12 Jake's life is threatened. At the same time in a distant corner of the Rigil galaxy Arr's daughter and her partner are thrust into a situation where they must depend on each other in order to survive, but they may need Dad's help to get through their ordeal. Meanwhile, Targus has lost Damion Mitchell to retirement. Targus' search for a new medical officer for this crew leads him to a newly graduated Galactic Forces Academy officer, Terrell Sterling. Terrell has an unexpected connection to the Henu and enough personal baggage to choke a Tuldavian Swamp Lizard. All three plots collide in a spectacular finale that will leave you seeking more Star Traveler adventure.
- A Mear Sleight of Hand
It has been two years since Sa'ling saved the alien Henu population and married Taylor. Taylor now has twins of this own. But life is not all diapers and pacifiers. Arr's past has come back to haunt him. A madman on the loose. Braden has a vendetta against him - a vendetta with roots in a mercenary mission long ago. Rejecting all offers of assistance, Arr leaves the community to lead Braden away from his family and friends. When Terrell inadvertently learns Arr will not be facing one opponent but five, he returns home to pursue his father with Nor, Garrett, Taylor, and Mear at his side. But will Arr's children be the death of him?
- The Adventure Begins: The Star Traveler Series: Volumes 1-3
Action, adventure, romance, and intrigue; it all began with a friendship between Jake, a battle worn, middle aged human mercenary, and a young alien named Arr. From that friendship sprang the foundation of this fast paced, character driven, page turning series. The Star Traveler Series is currently a six volume set of science fiction novels reminiscent of the old masters; Bradbury, Asimov and Heinlein. The Adventure Begins collects the first three books in the series: The Helavite War, The Heirs of Henu and Old Friends/New Enemies. With well-defined characters and a strong cinematic feel, the books create tremendous atmosphere. A terrific, highly imaginative world built and peopled with, appealing, interesting characters you will grow to care about. “Theresa Snyder writes great stories.” -5-star Amazon review
