After the events of A New Hope the Troop is sent to Kearse, a Somalia-like planet that for the most part needs to be cleared of enemy insurgent activity. However they won't be going it alone as they are teamed up with the Texian 101st Light Airborne unit, which through the book also goes with a futuristic rendition of Operation Gothic Serpent, the operation made famous from the movie Black Hawk Down. This book goes over the search for General Malik, the head of the insurgency on Kearse and the operations conducted to capture him. Of course there is violence but in this case a different way of life in a chaotic universe is all the same to the hardened troopers of 2/4 Cav.

    2/4 Cavalry: Operation Rockslide
    2/4 Cavalry: Operation Rockslide

A futuristic rendition of Operation Rock Avalanche by Battle Company, 1st of the 503rd. It was an after story from A New Hope. Based in the universe created by David Drake (with his permission). This book is an "additional" story set in the same timeframe as the "A New Hope" ebook story and intended to be part of the timeline, but due to space I had to make it a separate story.

For ten years the European Space Union has been at war with the Muslim Coalition and now things are starting to come to a close. Kush will be returned to its former masters, while Mashara will go to the European Space Union. 2/4 Cav is sent back to Mashara to help effect the handover while dealing with another enemy: military politics

2-4 Cavalry Book 12: The Lost Planet

In this short story (less than 11K words) a research scientist leaves for a nuclear devastated planet for research, a squad from the unit is sent to retrieve her. "Clean and crisp rescue mission. The political talk wasn't bashed over the head and the characters were realistic." -Beta reader

  • 2-4 Cavalry: Operation Resolute Justice

    2-4 Cavalry: Operation Resolute Justice
    2-4 Cavalry: Operation Resolute Justice

The unit is sent to Kobata in order to apprehend Iqbal Hasheed's "War Cabinet". Using the mission template from Black Hawk Down (operation Gothic Serpent) the unit uses its skills in order to pull the mission off in this military science fiction story. While Book 3 handled the ill effects of that fated mission this short story actually shows when it works.

The unit is sent to the planet Lisbon in case of negotiations between the government and the rebellion goes wrong.

    2-4 Cavalry: Rolling Thunder

After a mis-calculation on an orbital drop, two Leopards from the Troop fight their way back to friendly lines. Of course it was a mixup but the Freelanders didn't think so when they ambushed the tanks and now they're on the run through the mountains to survive.

  • 2/4 Cavalry: Operation Morning Glory

    2/4 Cavalry: Operation Morning Glory

After the events of Eagle Hammer, a month later the Troop is sent to the Thai Defense Zone to put down a growing insurgency that threatens the Thai way of tolerating religion. Note it does have some religious themes involved but doesn't delve into the subject and doesn't form a debate on that touchy subject. It's purely fictional and does not have any speculative work involved. 18 and over only

2-4 Cavalry Book 11: Dance of Death

Since the end of the war with the Muslim Coalition the European Space Union has returned to looking at conducing anti-piracy strikes in order to secure its border better. The unit is sent on one of these missions, and as always, brings its unique flavor of tactics to the battlefield. But when they find out more information, it’s time to also bring home a dealer who can help end the pirate scourge.

  • 2/4 Cavalry: A New Hope

    2/4 Cavalry: A New Hope
    2/4 Cavalry: A New Hope

Set in David Drake's Hammer's Slammers universe (with his gracious permission) this is a story about a vectored-thrust (aircar) unit that I developed while deployed in Afghanistan. Unlike the nominal Hammer's Slammers story this book is set on the planet New Hope, which resembles Afghanistan in a way and features stories related to a planet beset by an insurgency. Stories are a collection of short stories I came up for this book and also relate to real-world experiences taken from the news or some that are personal experiences. This book takes place after The Sharp End as far as chronology goes.

  • 2/4 Cavalry Book 13: Operation Arrow

2/4 Cavalry Book 13: Operation Arrow
2/4 Cavalry Book 13: Operation Arrow

Continuing after the events in Book 12: The Lost Planet, Operation Arrow highlights the unit's deployment as part of a mercenary unit designed to fill the coffers for the Dutch Protectorate. With this the unit delves deeper into the known human occupied planets and sees more than it bargains for as well as fighting the same fight or learning new things as they conduct missions from peacekeeping to direct combat as well as counter-insurgency warfare. Like most books it offers viewpoints that the author has noted as well as various references based on real world experiences and events adapted for this book.

  • 2/4 Cavalry: Eagle Hammer

    2/4 Cavalry: Eagle Hammer
    2/4 Cavalry: Eagle Hammer

After the unsuccessful attempt of the unit and the Texians to capture General Malik, the unit is eventually deployed to Talis, a forested planet where a republic has broken away from the main planetary government. Hired to support the Golden Eagles, a crack tank mercenary regiment, the unit heads to the planet in a more "conventional" tank setting rather than a couner-insurgency one.
