About this series
Most people never have a true turning point in their lives. There are distractions, persuasions, and diversions, but your path is your path.
That is what Ping thought throughout his life. Although he was young, his ideology was as firm and focused as any worldly mind. He had an entrenched distrust of the authorities and politicians, and knew it was his fate to open the eyes of the world to the deception they were faced with. He found it almost inconceivable that even though they had torn the sky with failed attempts at Geo-engineering, destroyed most of the remaining global food crops through corporate corruption, and even created near fascist governments, that the people still had faith in the system.
Given a gift of advanced tech from his Uncle, Ping goes on a road trip with his crew, but there is no way he could have expected the trip to end up in a place that would question his own morals and how far he was willing to go.
This short story is part of a series of background stories from the key characters in the Red Shift Novel series. Take a glimpse into Sydney next century, and see what we all know is coming.

- Vixen Revolution
In the post-economic world of the Red Shift series, the city of Sydney is one of the few remaining centres of power in the technological world. But even as the new city flourishes in the advancement and comforts provided by the scientists and benefactors that have been drawn to the region, there is a dark under-belly that will not be forgotten. The old city has been left to fall at the mercy of Mother Nature. The rising seas and tainted sky slowly suck the life from the city, and those unable to escape it. The loss of faith, hope, allow a darkness to grow, turning the city into a breeding ground for anger and violence. For those in power, this place is a useful resource to recruit individuals and groups to carry out their dirty work. Acts of political deception, espionage, and worse, are carried out as business transactions. The greed and desperation of those left behind only fuels this trade, and has given rise to many competing gangs and crews. Once such crew is rising up, with a clear vision of what must be done. They will not fight for scraps with gangs. They will not bow to the whims of the Alphas and help them destroy the last of their city. They will not stand by and watch their fellow women be destroyed by the spreading cancer of the city’s darkness. They are strong, focussed, and building a formidable force. There will be a revolution, the Vixen Revolution.
- Two Delta India Echo
Two Delta India Echo is a snap shot of the story of Jack Prince, protagonist of the Red Shift series. After losing his wife, daughter, and career, Jack hit rock bottom, before meeting Cindy. Now with a renewed focus in his life, Jack is out to shut down the most powerful organization in the country. He has an arsenal of combat-hardened skills, low self-esteem, more demons than one closet can hold, and a constant push to self destruction. But, will it be enough? Set around 100 years from now, Two Delta captures a pivotal moment in Jack's life. Although Australia is one of the few countries functioning in the post-economic future, it is not without problems. Extreme global weather changes have destroyed many cities, and forced a rapid and un-monitored development of a new city. Corporations now control the country is a real and open capacity, with exploitation and corruption in every facet of daily life. Thankfully the elite have no shortage of enemies, and none more-so than the tech wizard Cindy. With her family taken from her by a corrupt government while she was still a child, Cindy has spent her life throwing the biggest spanners she can find into the works of any Government in power. Between them they have a small window of opportunity to get into MDC and show the world what is happening before them. The only question that remains, is if a pair of renegade individuals can hold it together long enough to achieve their goal. J P Robertson
I am a Science Fiction writer, releasing my first novel in 2014.Although I am an adult, I am a kid at heart, often reliving my youth vicariously through my children. I love everything about SciFi, from futurist concepts, to high-tech weapons and gadgets, and pure escapism. My writing is aimed at adults, and young people that can handle a bit of violence and foul language. Although neither attributes are foundations of my writing, I do not shy away from using the common colloquialism you would expect to find with the types of characters I develop. If you like futurism, action, espionage, and colorful characters, you'll like what I make.
