About this series

When Lincoln’s wife Alexis goes missing, he begs the mysterious Kairos for help to get her back. The Kairos determines her father has kidnapped her and dragged her unwillingly into the deep past. He brings Lincoln and his whole mission team to his home on Avalon, a place normally hidden from the human race, and to the chamber of the great crystal called the Heart of Time. This crystal has recorded all of human history, and it can be used for time travel if one knows how.

Through the Heart, the Kairos transports the entire mission team to the beginning of history; but there are complications. In order to save Alexis, the Kairos is required to sacrifice himself. That leaves the mission team with only one option. To return to their proper time in the future, they will have to travel the hard way, through the time gates and across the time zones. This will bring them through all of recorded history, many unexpected and unknown historical details, and some nasty surprises.

Written in episodic form, each time zone centers around a different lifetime of the Kairos, a person who has lived 121 times since the beginning of history. Each time zone presents unique difficulties. The travelers have to try not to disturb history, which is hard to do when they are fighting for their lives. But the Kairos, you understand, never lives a quiet life. And then, not too many years ago, certain ... things got driven into the past. Some of those things may be content to follow the travelers back into the future. Most have picked up their scent, and some are hunting them.

Avalon, the Pilot Episode is all you need to begin the journey.

Don’t miss Avalon, Season One. Same E-read, same E-channel.

And Avalon, the prequel. Invasion of Memories, where the Kairos in our day comes out of a time of deep memory loss too quickly. In order to keep his mind from becoming overwhelmed and incapacitated he tells stories from his past, stories from when he remembered who he was, the Kairos, the Traveler in Time, the Watcher over History. He knows he cannot afford to become incapacitated, because there are three Vordan battleships on the dark side of the moon, and they are preparing to invade.

Enjoy ...

It is said the Kairos has never lived a quiet life, but in the deep past, when the ancient gods conspired to block his memories, he found he could at least live a relatively normal life, most of the time. Such a thing had to be done with great care, even by the gods, because there would be times when he would need to remember himself as the Kairos, the Traveler in Time, the Watcher over History. In those times, the memory block was designed to come down, but everyone could only hope it did not come down too fast or all at once. A sudden influx of memories from so many past and future lifetimes might be incapacitating, and that might prove disastrous for humanity and for history. When Glen, the Storyteller, is attacked by the alien Vordan, disaster is what everyone expects. His mind and memories as well as his body all need to move fast to meet this threat to the future of the human race. But he is in danger of being overwhelmed when memories of past and future lives bombard his mind. He needs a release valve for the pressure. He finds it by telling stories of his past, of times earlier in his life when the memory block came down and he had to deal with whatever threatening situation presented itself at the time. The stories help, and that is important because this time he cannot afford to become incapacitated by too many memories coming too fast. There are three Vordan battleships on the moon and an invasion he needs to stop. Invasion of Memories tells 9 tales of the Storyteller from Nursery School to well into adulthood. It is a journey from New Jersey, to Ireland and Vienna, to Virginia and New York City, and to the ships at sea. And all the while, Glen is trying to stop an invasion that history (the future) does not remember – one that never happened. But there are serious problems here. There are layers of trouble and Glen, with the help of the Men in Black, and Alice, an innocent lawyer drafted into the middle of it all, have to dig deep to uncover the whole story and find a solution. Glen knows these local Vordan could not have come to Earth without help. It isn’t the pilot fish that he must find and contend with, it is the shark. Invasion of Memories ends where the Avalon series begins. The Men in Black recover Lincoln, once held captive by the Vordan, but Lincoln’s wife Alexis is still missing and he is desperate to find her. The Kairos turns his mind from alien intruders to a missing woman and determines she is lost somewhere in time. Look for Avalon, the Pilot episode, available now for 99 cents, a science fiction-fantasy, time travel adventure aimed at that sweet spot where all good television belongs – where the improbable becomes possible and the impossible becomes probable. Also look for Avalon, Season One – 13 episodes of magic and mayhem, cavemen and space aliens, kidnappers and other ghouls, demons and monsters, all of whom stand in the way of the travelers from Avalon who only want to get through the time gates and return to their homes in the future, alive. Thank you for reading Invasion of Memories. I hope you enjoy the memories and Happy Reading. -- Michael

Avalon, Season One Travelers (Pilot Episode Included)

Avalon, the Prequel: Invasion of Memories The trouble begins when the alien Vordan park three battleships on the far side of the moon and prepare an invasion. The Kairos, a mysterious and complex person, needs to remember as many of his previous and future lifetimes as possible, and act quickly to avoid a catastrophe. It gets complicated when, in all the struggle, Lincoln’s wife turns up missing. Avalon, The Pilot Episode Alexis, born an elf, turned human to marry Lincoln, but her elf father fears she will age too rapidly and he will soon lose her. He kidnaps her, and through the Heart of Time on Avalon, hides her at the beginning of time. Lincoln, Lincoln’s boss Lockhart, his assistant Boston, two elves they hope will talk sense to the kidnapper, and two marines for protection are carried by the Kairos to the beginning of history. They capture the kidnapper and save Lincoln’s wife, but there is a complication. The Kairos disappears. Avalon, Season One Travelers The only way home is through the time gates that surround the many lives of the Kairos. They must move through the centuries, face new struggles in each time zone, and keep one eye turned behind where other things have fallen through the cracks in time and are now hunting them. Season One finds the travelers from Avalon struggling through time gates and across time zones in Neolithic days, where they confront things they never imagined. A whole company of ghouls begins to hunt them, a bogy man and his bogy beast attack their minds, a bokarus – a green man, defender of the pristine wilderness, finds these modern intruders worthy only of destruction. There are troubles thrown back from the future, like the werewolf they innocently feed when he is a poor, mindless, naked man. Now he has their scent. There is a Gott-Druk (Neanderthal), a space farer from the future that carries all sorts of advanced technology and who has no love for homo sapiens. They have to fight the Balok, a Serpentine race of space travelers who believe the Balok should be the only intelligent species in the universe, and all others must die. The Neolithic world is one where ogres and imps still play, where gods like Tiamut (Chaos) and Pan (Lord of the Dance) think nothing of using and abusing people. Boston clings to Lockhart for a time until she finds a defender in Roland, their elf companion. Roland’s sister, Alexis, an elf made human, and her human husband Lincoln struggle with being young again, much to the delight of her father Mingus who would just as soon see them separated. Lockhart and the two Marines, Katie Harper and Captain Decker, cling to their guns and hope only to get everyone back to the twenty-first century, alive. People are kidnapped, herds stampeded and demons await them down the trail in a world where man, nature and Hell itself seem arrayed against them. Season One includes 13 episodes, where the travelers journey through 13 lifetimes of the Kairos, a person who never manages to live a quiet life. I hope you enjoy reading the Avalon series as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Happy Reading. -- Michael Look for Avalon, the prequel: Invasion of Memories, where the Kairos comes out of a time of deep memory loss, and in order to keep his mind from being overwhelmed by the sudden influx of memories, he tells stories from his past, from when he remembered who he was: the Kairos, the Traveler in Time, the Watcher over History. Avalon, Season Two: Bokarus

Eight people trapped in the past are trying to get home. They move through time gates and across time zones that surround the many lifetimes of the Kairos; a person who never lives a quiet life. In each time zone, they face unique troubles in the struggle to survive, while keeping one eye open for what else has fallen through the cracks in time and may be following, or perhaps hunting them. From the beginning of history to the present, they have no one but each other to depend on—for as long as they are able to trust and depend on each other. Avalon, the series, is like a television show written in story form. Like a good TV show, one or two episodes is sufficient to meet the characters, understand what is happening and how this all works. I encourage you to sit back and enjoy. For the purists, the Prequel, the Pilot Episode, and Season One are all available in various formats. Happy Reading. From the Pilot Episode: It was Doctor Procter who explained. “I spent the last three hundred years studying the lives of the Kairos. Now that we have the opportunity to walk through those lifetimes, one by one, and in order I might add, I am not going to miss that opportunity. Isn’t that right, Mingus?” Mingus shook his head and sighed, and in that moment everyone got a good look at the difference between Mingus, a full blood elf and the Doctor who was half-human. The contrast was not startling but obvious. No plain human could have eyes as big, features as sharp or fingers as thin and long. “If you say,” Mingus muttered as he took the amulet and shook it once himself. “What says the Navy?” Lockhart turned to look at the two who were armed and bringing up the rear. “I’m to follow orders,” Captain Decker frowned. Lieutenant Harper smiled. “I would not mind exploring a little while we have the chance.” “Besides,” Roland spoke up while Lockhart faced front again and encouraged everyone to resume walking. “I have a feeling the Kairos would not mind if we rooted out some of the unsavory characters that wandered into the time zones without permission.” “Oh, that would be very dangerous.” Alexis said it before Lincoln could, and she grinned for her husband. “All the same...” Roland did not finish his sentence. He fell back to walk beside Lockhart to underline his sentiments to the man. “Hey.” Boston came up. She had been straggling near the back. “Boston, dear.” Lockhart backed away from the elf and slipped his arm around the young woman. “So what do you think? Do we run as fast as we can or explore a bit and maybe confront some unsavories along the way?” “Explore and help the Kairos clean out the time zones. I thought that was obvious.” “Well for the record,” Mingus said as he turned and walked backwards. “Though it may kill me to say it, I agree with that Lincoln fellow.” “I haven’t offered an opinion,” Lincoln said. “No, but I can read the mind of a frightened rabbit well enough.” “Father!” Alexis jumped and there was some scolding in her voice. “I vote we explore and help.” She looked at Lockhart, and so did everyone else except the Doctor who was still playing with his amulet. Lockhart nodded. “Okay,” he said. “But the number one priority is to get everyone home alive and in one piece, so when it is time to move on, we all move, no arguments.” “You got that right,” Captain Decker mumbled. Everyone seemed fine with that except Mingus who screwed up his face and asked, “And who decides when it is time to move on?” “I do.” Lockhart spoke without flinching. The two stared at each other until Doctor Procter interrupted. “Anyway,” he spoke as if in the middle of a sentence. “I would not worry about hunting unsavories. I don’t imagine it will take long before they start hunting us.”

They try hard not to disturb history. All they want is to get home in one piece, but they quickly learn that they are not the only ones lost in time. Thus, the travelers decided at the beginning to help the Kairos clean out the time zones, but as Doctor Procter explains in the pilot episode, “I would not worry about hunting unsavories. Avalon, Season Six, Witches & Outlaws

The Avalon Series is designed to be a television show in written form. Like any good show, an episode or two should be enough to grasp who the characters are, how this all works, and follow along. It is not necessary to read it all in chronological order, so starting with season six should be fine. Of course, after the season, you may want to go back and power-read it from the beginning. I look forward to someday seeing this show filmed, or maybe animated. Who knows? Avalon. The travelers came instantly to the beginning of history on a rescue mission. Things did not go as planned. Now, to get home, the travelers must return the slow way, following the Amulet of Avalon that points the way from one time gate to the next. They must cross dangerous time zones that center around the many lives of the Kairos, the traveler in time, the watcher over history, a person who never lives a quiet life. They have unlimited vitamins and elf crackers, for their health; and unlimited bullets, needed far too often. They ride mustangs brought back from the old west, and wear fairy weave clothing that they can shape and change with a word in order to blend into the local culture. By a special gift of the Kairos, they can understand and be understood no matter the local language. It helps, because inevitably they deal with thieves, brigands, armies and empires, gods and monsters, spirits and creatures, space aliens and the great unknown. They try hard not to disturb history along the way. To be sure, all they want is to get home in one piece, but they are not the only ones lost in time. Some people lost in time might want to follow them, or even go with them. But some people are not so friendly, and not everything lost in time is a person. Some want to fight the travelers. Some want to hunt them. In season six, the Travelers pick up a professor in antiquities and his wife, who fell into the past from 1905. They are hunted by the necromancer, fight three cowboy-outlaws from 1875, and face a powerful witch—the evil replica of a woman from 1905 still living in the days of Julius Caesar. This is only added to the troubles they find in each time zone: alien Humanoids and Wolv, plagues, wars, struggles between people, and a couple of attempts to make guns and gunpowder before gunpowder is even invented. Look for the entire Avalon series, including The Prequel: Invasion of Memories. Following the Pilot Episode are nine seasons of adventures through the days of myth and legend, ancient empires, the birth of great civilization, and into the modern era, where the dangers grow exponentially. I live, work, and dream in the southeast United States, where I occasionally wipe the dust from my shoes. My stories stretch back to the beginning of history and forward to the horizon of the future. They stretch out to other dimensions, other universes, other earths. They stretch up to the heights of human potential, and down to the depths of human depravity. And I always tell stories.Give me a cave, a bonfire in the night, the distant howl of a wolf under a full moon, and a listening, attentive ear, and I will tell you a story.Other than storytelling, I continue to walk with my family and friends, day by day, and only now and then wonder how long this road may be. I can't wait to see what happens next.--MichaelM. G. Kizzia
