About this series
But the perpetrator does not know about her lack of recall. When he finds her again, he must kill her to save himself.
A young business owner stuck with a wife whose only communications are lies, finally has had enough of her fabrications. He perceives only one solution to his problem. Tec and his crew find physical evidence of both crimes buried on Mount Lemmon.
Meanwhile one of Tec’s earlier cases has come back to haunt him. Julie, the killer Tec has been trying to find over a ten-year period, has managed to escape punishment for her misdeeds until she meets the perpetrator of one of the cold cases. A chance encounter may result in a deadly dance with only one survivor.
Deadly Playmates is the fourth in the series. Deadly Payback, Deadly Pairs and Deadly Patterns are the first three books.
Titles in the series (4)
- Deadly Payback
1
Payback, revenge, call it what you will. It’s on everyone’s agenda. When they put their heads together Carolyn and Julie make a perfect plan to knock off their disagreeable spouses. Maybe it won’t be quite so perfect when Tucson Detectives Hoffman and Jenkins, with some crucial help from Sara Hoffman, begin to question some of the facts. Then Betsy Carpenter arrives with a plan of her own. She’d like to even the score with a high school enemy who made her life “a living hell for four long years.” Betsy is sure she is smarter than the cops too. If anyone is going to get away with murder, then maybe she’ll have to be the one to tackle the real source of the problem...that too smart cop! If he won’t happily go down the false trail she so conveniently supplies for him, then maybe he’ll have to die, too.
- Deadly Pairs
2
In Tucson, Arizona detective partners Tec Hoffman and Bill Jenkins have new crimes to solve. They will find that sometimes wickedness arrives in pairs. Tec and Bill are going to have a struggle locating these terrible duos. Even with the help of Sara they’ve got some difficult puzzles to solve. As two of Tucson’s finest go on the hunt, confusion abounds but these two are good at bringing order out of chaos. And when Frank Alvarez joins the detection team, what appear at first to be coincidence may provide the key to solve the case and bring the pair of serial killers to justice before they can strike again (and this time way too close to home) Logic and luck both come to play as Tec works his way up to the point of an arrest. There’s a copy-cat too and a home invasion with amazing consequences. And maybe, just maybe, Julie will reappear for a moment...it’s been almost ten years since she managed to get away with murder...but Tec never gave up on finding her and won’t do so now.
- Deadly Patterns
This is the third book in the DP series. Deadly Payback, Deadly Pairs and now Deadly Patterns. In Tucson, Detective John Hoffman known as “Tec” and his partner Bill Jenkins have added one new detective to their team. Frank Alvarez was useful in finding a pair of serial killers which made both Bill and Tec seek to add him to their team. Now the three of them face new challenges, a trio of golfer’s lying dead on the third tee of a local golf course, tunnels that appear from seemingly nowhere and run underground revealing yet another body and, in the Tucson foothills, a kidnapping and an explosion leaving behind a gruesome scene. Even with occasional input from Sara Hoffman, this week of crime and destruction brings pressure to bear on the team to find those responsible and quickly too. Working independently, they keep one another up to date until one crime crosses the path of another and their separate inquiries meet, bringing them to some terrifying conclusions. Frank Alvarez embarks on a path he might soon regret. And Julie, well Julie is still out there, still evading the police, though her good times may soon be over whether or not the authorities find her.
