About this series
The peaceful planet of Nerit is under attack by the savage Graalix. Pleas for help have gone largely unanswered throughout the Ontarrin Galaxy. Only Satiris, home of the peace-loving Satirens, answers the call. The Satiren High Council is at a loss. They must aid their allies, for the Neritians are the ones keeping Satiris alive. Both species lack weapons and warrior skills. They desperately need someone with fighting experience.
Dar Meltom is no stranger to conflict. As captain of the freighter Marsuian, and a half-breed, he’s been fighting all his life. The high council convinces him to command a fledgling army that has never tasted battle. Dar has reservations from the very beginning. He enlists Robert, his Earthling stepfather, who has a unique knowledge of the invaders. Together they hatch a risky plan that means certain death.
As the battle begins...Dar and his ragtag army of Satirens and a few Lanterians plunge headlong into a wormhole and tempt fate. What they find on the other side is death, galactic annihilation, and something that will change their lives forever. Dar and Robert must race the clock, battle the Graalix, and return safely to the Ontarrin Galaxy with precious cargo onboard.

The Ontarrin Galaxy is a rough and tumble place. Young Dar Meltom knows this for fact. As the half breed offspring of an incredibly unlikely joining between an Earthling male and a Satiren female, he knows what fighting is all about. Having spent his childhood on Erotis 3 getting into fights because he was different, Dar’s only solace comes from watching the stars. He’s crazy about them. He dreams about them, and secretly wishes to be among them. His mother, Denrika, knows her son is at a disadvantage. Living in a purebred society, his chances for getting a job after he graduates school are slim. Until one day, a large alien strolls into the general store where she works. His name is Gwog, and he’s captain of the space freighter Cunik. Little does he know, Denrika will convince him that he needs another crew member—a seventeen year old half breed with his head in the stars. Dar joins the crew of the Cunik and quickly learns that space life isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. After being on board only a few days, he’s stricken with Skrinnian fever and nearly dies. Gwog and Karnis nurse him back to health, and then he learns more important lessons about death, pirates, love, and the value of the friends he’s made. Until such time as he’s on his own, Dar absorbs everything Gwog teaches him. Then, one night, a game of Sirrixian poker changes his life forever... This is Book 1 of Dar's Adventures in Space.

Captain Dar Meltom sets his sights on a mission of utmost importance. With the stolen Plexus in the cargo bay of the Marsuian, he heads to Satiris, the planet of his ancestors. Once there, he encounters dangerous creatures, and Lukxia, the last purebred Satiren female on the planet. Dar deploys the Plexus, hoping it will bring Satiris back to life. Rather than keeping Lukxia as a second mate, he presents this most precious gift to Krodus, his long-time worst enemy, now friend. But that’s not enough adventure for Dar. Lurking not far from Erotis is a wormhole. It’s the very one that brought his father Edward Meltom, Earthling astronaut, to the Ontarrin Galaxy. The explorer in Dar wants to find his father. So together with his mate, Parnela, and Schmuff his Nouian engineer, they tempt fate and enter the wormhole. What awaits them is anything but a warm Earthling welcome. Quickly taken prisoner by humans, Dar and Parnela are imprisoned and subjected to a battery of tests. Dr. Robert Ciroli is tasked with studying them. He’s given two weeks to extract as much information before the aliens will be terminated. Knowing there is little on Earth that matters to him, Robert helps Dar and Parnela escape. They arrive back in the Ontarrin Galaxy and find Satiris a planet reborn. Where sand once claimed the settlements, it is now lush and green. Dar returns to Erotis and asks Krodus to address the Satiren High Council for permission to repopulate the planet. After much deliberation, council agrees. Dar is thrilled that Satiris is once again for Satirens.
- Space Junk
Book Two of Dar’s Adventures in Space If it weren’t for bad luck, freighter captain Dar Meltom would have no luck at all. Stalled by fate, and with a cargo of Jamaraian Rum, Dar is captured by Soothian pirates and pressed into slavery in the treacherous and deadly mines on the unstable planet Versith 5. He wonders what will kill him first: the mines, or the planet exploding. Princess Parnela Vischof of Kruelis, desperately wants to free her people from the barbaric and ruthless Versithians who are raping her planet of thidium—a mineral they need to survive. Her only hope is the mysterious device known as the Plexus, now stolen from the Versithians. If the device is not delivered, her planet will be laid to waste. Teamed up with Parnela, Dar uses his unique abilities to hunt down the pirates and retrieve the Plexus. Dar and Parnela face warring species, unstable planets, pirates, and their own growing attraction. But can they save their two species from extinction? After serving over 20 years in the Air Force, I made the ultimate job switch: to farmer and author. It was a drastic change, not to mention a drastic pay cut! I've been writing 25+ years and have been published in a variety of media: book, newspaper, photography, and magazine. I love to write, it seems to be a passion I can't ever seem to satisfy. It started out back in the day with the first book of the Dragonslayers Saga. Project: Dragonslayers is an MWSA award winning novel about an unlikely Special Forces team who are thrown headlong into the world of counterterrorism. The second book, Dragonslayers: Mind Games, continues the saga where the team enters the twisted world of al-Qaeda. They must find the source of a mystery explosive, or risk losing more innocent civilians to attacks. This book was selected for the MWSA summer 2011 reading list. The third book in the series is Dragonslayers: Battle Rhythm. This time it's Yemen, and the team finds out they're not invincible. Two more books in this series are slated for release: Kill Box (2013) and Critical Mass (2016?).Also I've expanded my work in other genres. Out now is the best-selling contemporary romance, Cowboys and Olympians. You'll meet and fall in love with Leo Richards, a champion reining horse trainer, as he tries to convince himself that he can love again after his wife and unborn child were killed in a fiery car crash. He falls for Katie Shulman, a rich, stubborn woman who just doesn't like cowboys. I'm currently writing another romance titled Silks and Sand about a Kentucky horse-racing family that falls on hard times. The owner, Evan Stoddard, hopes to regain their glory by putting a big bet on an unlikely horse and rider combination—a bet that threatens to ruin his life.If supernatural thriller/ horror appeals to you, check out The Hall. You'll meet Marcus Bishop, wealthy Memphis book publisher; his new and terrifically eccentric best friend, Prince Mongo; along with a ghost and demons that haunt the old castle Marcus buys. After taking a dare from a horror author friend of mine, I started work on the “Space” series. Space Crazy introduces you to Dar Meltom, a half breed alien who's had a rough life. He longs for a life in the stars, and as difficult as it is, his mother manages to give that to him. Space Junk, Space Available, and Space Invaded are all available. I am working on probably the last book in the series: Space Vanguard. So far I've enjoyed working in all these genres, and have started converting some stories into screenplays. There are more things I'm working on, too numerous to mention. So keep checking my Facebook pages to see if there's anything new.I was given a rare distinction of placing 1st in Ron Knight's top 100 Facebook authors of 2012. He starts with 8,000 and narrows it down to 100. An honor indeed. As always, I appreciate feedback and book reviews. I'm a small fish in a huge ocean just trying to stay afloat. I love my writing and pour heart and soul into each work I do.MWSA: Military Writer's Society of America http://www.militarywriters.com/http://sturgeoncreek.blogspot.com/Twitter: sturgeon3736http://www.facebook.com/pages/K-Rowe-Author/136794706391542http://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-Dragonslayers/411626645650
