King Tancred, the ruler of Korava, plans a sneak attack on the kingdom of Argos. Princess Uralia, the daughter of the Argosian king, hears of the plot and asks Valka the Wolf Slayer to take her back to her father so she can warn him of the impending attack. Valka agrees, and embarks on a blood drenched journey that pits him against the whole army of King Tancred, who intends to stop them. ~ The Sequel to DRAGON SWORD ~
- Song of the Sword
Valka the Wolf Slayer travels to the magical Isle of Britain. While there, he meets the stalwart knight, Sir Gawain, and Britain's greatest bard, Taliesin. They challenge the black magician, Klingsor, and face the many terrors of his castle. In the process, Valka rescues the beautiful maid, Kundry, who had been entranced by Klingsor. They travel to the Castle of Maidens, where Valka battles the evil knight holding them captive. Arriving at Camelot, he meets King Arthur, champions Queen Guinevere in the Affair of the Poisoned Apple, then embarks on the Quest for the Grail.

Captured by pirates, Valka the Wolf Slayer is sold into slavery then battles as a gladiator in order to survive. Purchased by a great spiritual master, he undertakes a quest to re-capture a magical emerald stolen by the Black Brotherhood. Accompanied by the Shield Maiden, Aquila, and her band of women warriors, Valka battles his way across a blazing desert and into a black mountain of sorcery where the jewel is kept. He faces psychic attacks, an army of bloodless ghouls, a wave of poisonous serpents and a deadly labyrinth. But his most dangerous challenge comes when he confronts the emerald itself and faces the irresistible lure of the gift it offers.

Stumbling upon a secluded valley in the mountains, Valka the Wolf Slayer saves a young maid from being sacrificed by an evil witch and learns of the oppression the witch has imposed upon the valley. He remains to battle her army of killers and the dark minions of the black magician who stands behind her.
- Star Sword
Valka the Wolf Slayer tumbles into the underground kingdom of Agartha. The Master of Masters asks him to battle a black magician plotting to usurp his position. Fighting the dark forces the magician sends against him, Valka breaks his sword. He must descend still further to the underworld forge of Wayland the Great Smith. Wayland and Valka construct a new sword from the fragment of a star. Armed with the star sword, Valka faces the magician in an epic battle to the death.
- Sword of Conquest
After helping an Atlantean king regain his throne, Valka the Wolf Slayer travels to Mesoamerica with the great master Kukulcan. While Kukulcan travels to Tiahuanaco, Valka leads the Toltecs in a defensive war against the Nahuas. Valka faces a series of hair-raising challenges that require all of his skills in order to return alive.
- Sword of Empire
While carving out an empire on the steppes above the Black Sea, Valka the Wolf Slayer receives an urgent message from an old flame, now a queen, asking him to come to her aide against an evil witch plotting to usurp her throne. Valka moves his army northward to rescue the queen, only to find himself confronted by an overwhelming force. In the exciting climax he faces the witch herself in a battle of power.
- Sword of Mycenae
While passing through the Caucasus Mountains, Valka the Wolf Slayer encounters the hero, Heracles of Thebes. He battles Heracles several times, each fight resulting in a draw. After they free Prometheus from the chains binding him to a mountain peak, the three men decide to continue on together. Valka is with Heracles when he battles the Stymphalian Birds, wrestles the giant, Antaios, fights the man-killing Amazons, steals the Golden Apples of the Hesperides, and descends with him to the Underworld to bring back the demon-dog, Cerberus.

Richard Dawes
Richard Dawes was born and raised in California and now resides in a small town in Texas. After a tour of duty in the Marine Corps, he spent fifteen years in management in the Moving and Storage, Computer and Credit Union industries. He began writing short stories as a boy, and has written several historical novels. A long time student of Native American traditions, he includes positive references to those traditions throughout the Tucson Kid series. Other sub-themes explored in the series are authentic masculinity, relationships and power — what are they and how do they manifest.
