About this series
Eric Margrave, monster hunter for hire, and his ghostly partner, Lydia, have faced some truly horrible things in their short partnership. Ghosts, mad werewolves, and berserk gods have fallen before them.
Then Eric's mother comes to visit, and it all falls apart.
Katya Margrave is not the world's best mother. But she may very well be the world's best sorceress. When someone with that kind of power asks for a favor, familial affection only earns you so much leeway. In short order, Eric finds himself dragged halfway across the planet on what may possibly be his least favorite case ever.
But on the bright side, whatever hideous monsters threaten his life? They will probably still be less scary than the one who used to change his diapers.

The world of the supernatural is a place of intense horror and blood-chilling danger. Dark, twisted monsters stalk among humanity from the shadows, seeking only to devour us. Seems like somebody should make some money from all that, right? Enter Eric Margrave, semi-professional monster hunter (He'd be a professional, but they really don't have a certification process for this sort of thing.). When the things that go bump in the night start actually knocking on the door, he's the one who serves them their walking papers... for a nominal fee. Prices negotiable. No demons, please. In his debut appearance, Eric has entered the exciting world of real-estate, looking to set up a new safehouse. Good news: the house is haunted, and therefore a steal at the current price if you happen to know how to work an exorcism. Bad news... well, the house might be a bit more aggressively haunted than even a freelance slayer of the paranormal is used to...

The world of the supernatural is a place of intense horror and blood-chilling danger. Dark, twisted monsters stalk among humanity from the shadows, seeking only to devour us. Seems like somebody should make some money from all that, right? Jim McAvoy, veteran monster hunter and one-time partner (it ended with attempted murder) of Eric Margrave's, has died. Our 'hero' might not be too sentimental about it, but he is still more than ready to collect on his share of the will. Unfortunately, to do so, he has to hunt down the monster that finally brought big Jim down. And even more unfortunately, he isn't doing it alone. Not only has Lydia finagled a way out of her house to join the fun, Jim's own semi-competent former apprentice is out for a shot at the mark this time too. Eric can handle most situations that crop up, but can he deal with a creature that's already taken down one of his own profession, while dragging along two rookies? Either way, he is going to find that a decrepit farm hiding a lethal secret is a truly horrible place for a field trip.

Eric Margrave, monster hunter-for-hire, and his spectral partner Lydia have faced down ghosts, zombies, dark gods, and evil sorcerors together. But there is a thing more terrifying than all of these evil beasts combined: a broken television. Eric and Lydia are in need of a break. And when Lydia's beloved TV dies an early death, Eric offers her a night at the movies to help them both unwind. But this wouldn't be Eric's life without something going horribly wrong, and the movie theater is not the relaxing night they went out in search of. It's going to be a magical night for our heroes.

Seems like somebody should make some money from all that, right? Eric Margrave, monster hunter for hire, and his spectral partner, Lydia, have taken a job a bit far afield for even them; a series of animal attacks have been rocking Redwood National Park, and the client of the day suspects the local werewolf pack. Eric, being Eric, is excited at the prospect of facing one of the classic monsters... until he actually encounters one, and finds a new an unwelcome layer of complication to what should have been a simple case. There are worse things than wolves in these woods.

Long-time writer, short-time trying to sell it! See some of my above links for examples of non-professional fanwork; they aren't to the same standards of professional quality as what I will post for sale, but they give a decent idea of my style. I hope to be around for a long time, so please, I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.
