About this series
Linspan Branslin, the Prophet of the Flame and of the Wind, is dead.
His death at the hands of the ern was not in vain, however, because he learned the secret of the Magic beforehand, and he was somehow able to pass his power to the great swordsman, Ayrim Iylin. Iylin and his friends, however, have been captured by the wicked Vilantu, the dragon that is also the Prophet of the Void.
The quest for the eighth power comes to an end here, but Ayrim will have to uncover the secrets of the Forgotten Kingdom, face an army of ern, and challenge the extraordinary might of Vilantu if he is going to get out alive.

- The Eighth Power: Book II: The Book of the Earth
2
Several years ago, the city of Saparen fought off an ern attack in order to protect a few children who had done nothing to have earned the wrath of the ern except that they were born on a particular day – a day that made them possible heirs to the power of the Prophets. Ayrim Iylin, though proven to not be a Prophet, has grown up under the guidance of the Priests and the Thanes, all of whom are on constant guard against the ern. He seeks as normal a life as he can manage – from learning the art of farming, faith, and warfare. But now the ern are using a different and more subtle approach – sneaking into the town as stealthy murderers instead of attacking directly as an invading army. To make things worse, it appears that someone is letting them in. For the first time, Ayrim must step out of the shadow of the Baron’s protection to face his enemies directly. To protect himself, he must at last join the battle. The Eighth Power continues as the search for the two new Prophets continues, the war between Aeresan and Fahlin rages, and the power of the Void begins to consume the land.
- The Eighth Power: Book I: The Book of the Living
1
A dark conspiracy takes the lives to two Prophets, and their impressive powers have been passed on to another generation. The remaining Prophets have left the Tower to seek the two infants who will replace their fallen allies, but so are the wicked ern seeking the children, and no one is quite sure why. The world is rocked as the battle spreads across the land, and no one seems able to stop it. Meanwhile, in a tiny farming village, Barrin Iylin is left to raise his new son alone when his wife dies in childbirth. Such a task would be hard enough, but Barrin soon finds out that the ern are targeting his son and any others born on the same day. Could it be that his son is one of the new Prophets? And whether or not he is, how can a poor farmer hope to protect the boy against an army? The sweeping adventure of The Eighth Power begins here, with a heartbroken man who never thought nor desired to be caught up in a war, and yet can do no other if he wants his son to live.
- The Eighth Power: Book III: The Book of the Flame
3
The war against Fahlin has gone badly, and the castles that once protected the kingdom of Aeresan against the ern now stand unmanned. The wicked ern are flowing into the land unhindered, and they are anxious to renew their search for the new Prophets. It is only a matter of time before they can mount another attack against the city of Saparen, and this time Saparen will have no reinforcements to protect them. Ayrim Iylin, now a Thane of Saparen, must seek one of only two people in the world who can possibly save them – one of the two Prophets that have now been hidden over twenty years. And if one of those men cannot be found, the city will surely fall. The Eighth Power continues as the Void’s dark power begins to reassert itself in Aeresan, and the search for the missing Prophets becomes desperate if anything is to be saved.
- The Eighth Power: Book IV: The Book of the Dead
4
Linspan Branslin’s revelation has changed everything. He is both the Prophet of the Flame and the Prophet of the Wind, making him the most powerful Wizard in centuries. But with the Prophet of the Dead captured and an enormous ern army coming down upon the Castle of Saparen, will his extraordinary powers be enough? The ern are on Saparen’s doorstep, and there is no way out. Ayrim Iylin is forced into the very war from which he had been protected his whole life. But he will learn soon enough that no one can hide from the Void; and he will learn that the Void’s power is substantial. The Eighth Power continues as Vid’s allies mounting against our heroes, leaving only two ways out – by the sword, or by death. The prelude to war is over. The true quest for the eighth power begins here.
- The Eighth Power: Book V: The Book of the Sea
5
Their home has been destroyed, their king and one of the Prophets have sided with the Void. Furthermore, the Prophet of the Dead has been captured by the ern, and the other Prophets are scattered across the land. Only four remain – the swordsman Ayrim, the Prophet Linspan, the archer Dariel, and the blind Priest Rignslin. The entirety of the Aeresan army behind them and the ern army ahead of them, the four embark on a mad race to the Tower in a desperate search for allies to oppose the Nothing. But with one of the Prophets captured, they know that uniting the six powers against the Void is growing increasingly unlikely. Their only hope that some sort of answer can be found amongst the home of the Wizards. The Eighth Power continues as four men stand united against Vid and his vast army of dark followers.
- The Eighth Power: Book VI: The Book of the Wind
With the betrayal and death of the Prophet of the Sea, Linspan Branslin realizes that his plan to unite the Prophets of the Tower together against the Void cannot work. He is forced to turn to a more ancient power – the eighth power. The problem is that he doesn’t know what it is or where to find it, and the understanding of men cannot answer that for him. With the King of Aeresan, a one-eyed ern, and the Prophet of the Void close behind them, Ayrim Iylin leads Branslin and their friends into the land of the dragons in the hopes that their great memory will be able to help them. But the power of darkness behind them isn’t their only concern, because the dragons are no friends to men. Yet there is no other place to turn. The search for the eighth power continues, as Ayrim’s quest turns to desperation, and the Nothing continues to block off any other path for them to follow.
- The Eighth Power: Book VIII: The Book of the Eighth Power
- The Eighth Power: Book VII: The Book of Nothing
"There, right at the intersection between kings, ern, criminals, and soldiers, would they try to slip through unnoticed." The five adventures have exhausted all hope of finding an end to the war in the land of either men or dragon. There is only one place to go – the Forgotten Kingdom, a place that ern have ruled for thousands of years. They go, without ally, without knowing where to go, and without any other hope. And the ern know they are coming, and they are waiting for them. The penultimate chapter of the quest for the eighth power will take our heroes to the point of despair and beyond, and it will cost them more than they thought they could lose. The adventure takes its darkest turn, one into futility and anguish, with only the faintest glimmer of hope to guide them, a glimmer that may not be enough.
