After a tense moment, she let out her breath, relaxed, and was just about to turn over when she heard a soft scratching noise. The next sound she heard had her sitting straight up in bed. She was certain it was the click of the front door. She sat paralyzed with fear at the certainty that someone had just entered her apartment. She was equally certain that it wasn’t her roommate.

      They looked as if they weren’t sure what to do with me until they looked down at their fallen comrade I was standing over. Then, it was on. I’d never fought more than one person at a time before, well, at least not outside of black belt training. But, that was just sparring. Still, I prepared myself just as I would in class. They attacked simultaneously from different sides. I side stepped while delivering a strike to one guys gut. The other did manage to catch me in the chest and, though my momentum didn’t allow him to get a good grip, it sent me sprawling. Show more Show less

I had to use night vision goggles to get a good feel for the place while everyone else could use their regular eyes. Once I had the lay of the land, I probed around the back of the house where I couldn’t see. There was one lowly guard out there. The guard began to make his way back to the front of the house, leaving the back completely unguarded. That's when I sent the signal for all teams to move in.
