Synopsis for “Return of the Prehistoric Vampire”

HTRAE has been invaded by alien Vampire from the past. A prehistoric Vampire who are not only savage but whose technology has allowed them to create ships that give them an advantage over Htrae’s modern day beings. They were once banished with magick by the Witch of Htrae but aided by aliens from another planet have returned to claim their planet back.
LAUREL is pregnant with Learden’s child and is slowly bringing her army together again under the threat of losing her life at the hands of the one she loves. Returned to Fey Island by the Elves, she and her female bodyguards are now safe from the aliens for the time being but she is distraught over the threat to her planet, her life and the life of her child from the aliens.
LEARDEN has been captured and turned by the aliens; and according to their prophesy before they can claim the planet again Learden must kill his queen and his love. When he learns she is carrying his child a war rages inside him between his need to protect her and the child and the compulsion of the aliens that he must kill her.
SOLEICK has sworn to protect Laurel and fight for Htrae after he leads her and her companions to safety. He falls in love with Laurel and peruses her with his desire to be her consort. He knows she is not happy with the need to feed and mate with her male bodyguards; a need on this planet to sustain her Vampire side and to prevent bonding with anyone other than Learden.
THE FINAL CHAPTER in the Saga of Htrae will leave you breathless as you share the struggles of a queen who wants only to bring a new hope of peace and prosperity to the daoine of her planet and reunite with her family without shedding the blood of her enemies or of those who fight for her.

In the second book of "The Saga of a World Called Htrae," "Power of the Vampire," finds Laurel Kidnapped by a hybrid named Learden. When he learns who she is he claims her as his mate. When she looses hope of ever seeing Kianas again, she gives herself up to the feelings she has for Leaden. But when Kianas comes back into her life they press her to choose between them. She refuses, knowing one will die is she chooses. As she tries to resist the change and the monster growing inside her, she soon realizes that her linage and the true prophecy have claimed her to be the one to bring freedom and peace back to this planet. And her burning desire to see her son again could be her greatest downfall. The king however, plots her capture in hopes of preventing her form leading an army of hybrids that it has been foretold would defeat his army of vampires. Consumed by his own guilt from the past, and fearful of loosing his throne, he plans to unleash a secret weapon that could wipe out life on Htrae.

Book three finds Laurel training her army and getting them ready for the battle of their lives. She and her mate, Learden, are separated, along with her son, Peter; and she is left with trying to keep her army hidden from the king, by constantly moving; while she tries to find them. Kianas remains a part of her life but as her bodyguard, along with five others; with Learden as her second in command. As the story unfolds, it soon becomes clear to her that it is not the king and his Guard, they are really fighting, but a foe much more dangerous than once thought. As more of the prophesy is divulged, she begins her training for a much bigger role than she expected. She will soon become the most powerful being on the planet, and her mettle will be tested to its fullest. Even though her life is in constant danger she is determined to save the lives of those around her at the peril of her own. This is the story of how an entire planet bands together to save, not only their lives, but their world. And even though they know that many will die; they do it gladly under the guidance of one who has spent most of her life on another planet, in another galaxy.

The forth book in the series finds Laurel and Learden waging a deadly war with the aliens who are now using the portals to bring in another alien they call the ‘tall ones’. To make matters worse she finds that her mother’s sister, who was believed to be dead, is alive and well and is a master of dark magick. She would have Laurel as her slave and her army at her command if she could gain the upper hand. In order to keep her from doing just that she and Learden must separate so the ‘dark witch’ cannot use Learden to gain access to Laurel and her Gard. Apart they are devastated and must focus on eradicating the aliens seperatly. Learden connects with his past and fights the aliens the only way he knows how with his old crew and others with the same goal. Laurel and Banrion, the beautiful white griffin, and her Guard fight together from the sky while Learden fights on land and finds other ways to communicate with her. But when the aliens gain the upper hand Laurel is captured by a new faction of Elves who eventually become her allies. They help her search for Learden. Meanwhile Learden is captured and escapes only to discover there is another danger to the planet and it’s daoine (people), one that has been there before and they are more fearsome and evil than even the aliens who are preparing to bring them through the portals. Summary: Book four begins with Kronus shooting Laurel and Banrion, out of the sky. Banrion escapes, but he captures Laurel, telling her he is taking her to the alien base camp on West Continent. She manages to escape but when Learden and Banrion, take her back to the base camp Mother tells her that her mother’s sister Kala better known as the ‘dark witch’ is trying to find her and the only way she will be safe is if she and Learden break their bond. Laurel is devastated and tries to hold on to him, but Learden’s love for her convinces her she must; even though it will break both their hearts. Once they have separated she begins to focus on ridding her beloved planet of the aliens once and for all. But her campaign is interrupted by the Goddess’ new choice for her consort; Kronus. When Kronus takes Alela she has no choice but to deal with the ‘dark witch’ who Kronus is working for. She has her family and the threat becomes too dire for her to ignore. When her war takes on another sinister note keeping her and her female bodyguards away from the guard, they are captured by the King of the Elves and his thousands of Guard, not to mention his son, the prince who is enamored with Laurel and wants to challenge Learden for consort to the queen. Eventually she finds them to be allies and they help her search for Learden while finding a new enemy; prehistoric Vampires who have come to take their planet back and they have a deadly secret that could cost Laurel her life.

I am a retired clinical hypnotherapist. I completed my Ph.D. in 1990 and started a private practice which lasted twenty-five years in Southern California. I moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2005 with my late husband Chad where I began to explore my creative side in singing acting and writing. I have three children living in Southern California, one who adopted me in Sparks, Nevada and seven grandchildren."Dreams and Vampires" was inspired by my late husband's love of science fiction and my own inquisitive nature of "what ifs." It is a combination of science fiction and fantasy with my own experience as a hypnotherapist thrown into the mix.I wrote "Dreams and Vampires" in Arizona. However, when I decided to place the beginning of my story in Arcata, California it rekindled my love of the North West and the peaceful solitude it has to offer. I will soon move to Northern California with my cat Gwynie and Finish writing my second book in the series of "The Saga of a World Called Htrae."
