About this series
Just when seventeen-year-old Ashley thinks she’s able to quit her job at Legion, a government of supernatural beings, her long-time partner, Colt’s, family starts to disappear. They aren’t the only one’s either; spooks have been vanishing all over the world.
Ashley chooses to find Colt’s family as her final case with Legion, but as they begin to investigate she begins to uncover things about herself she never thought possible. She starts to think that maybe Legion holds too much power, and maybe they won’t be so happy to just let her walk away from them.

2
The Dark Origins can be read in ANY order! Havenbrooke County has an unusually high number of sudden fires, strangely pinpoint accurate earthquakes, and a terrible percentage of out of school youths. Among all three statistics is Grace, a fifteen year old girl with an uncontrollable temper and knack for thieving. All her life she’s been tossed between foster homes, and always kicked out after a fire. She’s finally free of the system and found a home with others like her, with one that even knows her darkest secret. Those sudden fires have all been caused by her, even the earthquakes. When Grace gets upset she can’t control the fire within her and tends to explode, with black flames lashing out at high velocity. She doesn’t know what she is, or why this is happening, but she does all she can to hide it. Until someone sees her. A group of masked men try and grab her from a busy nightclub when a boy saves her. Noah isn’t like anyone Grace has met; he doesn’t shy away from her prickly demeanor and tells her he knows exactly what she is and why a group of men have made her their top priority. Noah tells her he could explain everything, she just has to come with him.
- Shimmering (The Dark Origins)
Ember Reed is a fifteen-year-old shape-shifter, a creature with the ability to transform into any animal, despite it’s shape or size. At least, she should be able to; Ember can’t quite change her entire form, only bits and pieces. This has earned her the nickname “sucky spook” at the Sagefall Recreation Center, a place where supernatural beings go for training. Living the life of an outcast, Ember pretends to be content with only having her cousin Jayd as a friend and keeping her nose buried in fictional stories. But when she goes to the bookstore downtown and finds a girl going through her first Shift, Ember realizes that she might have the chance to make a friend. Ember also realizes that this girl may be in trouble, because the most powerful people of her community have been starting to disappear. After she witnesses the kidnapping of her classmate she decides to do whatever she can to save her new friend. But while trying to keep this girl off the kidnappers radar she seems to have fallen right onto it when her new power is discovered.
