The Game Series

In this initial installment of a short story serial from the world of The GAME, M13 anxiously goes to bed after his 18th birthday celebration. Later, like all members of the dystopian society of Ashen, he magically awakens at the headquarters of The GAME, the training arm of the magical government. Should he manage to survive all 12 weeks at The GAME, he will awaken back in his bedroom the morning after his 18th birthday as though he never left. All memories of the oppressive ordeal will have been erased, and he will continue the life The GAME programmed into him. While at The GAME M13 befriends M7, and both are fighting for their lives during each training phase. After witnessing classmates being sent to their deaths, M13 is convinced by super-confident M7 that they can do the impossible and topple The GAME. Will M13's morality and uncertainty doom their plan? Can this super-intelligent duo defy the odds, or will they become victims of The GAME?

A reporter. An athlete. A line they can not cross. Reporter Katelyn Nelson wants nothing to do with dating a baseball player. Even a whiff of gossip making its way around baseball’s “good ole boy” circles would ruin her career and she won’t throw it all away for some cocky hotshot, no matter how much chemistry she might have with him. Immediately after Zeke (M7) watches his best friend, Stone (M13), vanish to safety through a portal, he and his new allies take Stryker (K42) as a prisoner, hoping to gain critical information that will help overturn The GAME's oppressive regime. With no time to waste, Zeke experiments with the boundaries of his magical abilities and stamina. Meanwhile, Stone finds himself navigating LONE, Land Of Necromancy & Experimentation, all while fighting an internal battle between dark and light magic. Will self-confident Zeke go too far with his newfound magic? Will Stone make it out of LONE, where he is desperately wanted for experimentation because of his unique combination of dark and light magic? Or does it all even matter since The GAME is too big and about to tilt the balance of power in their favor?

Arke searches for an ancient cure to extract the dark magic from Stone and Zeke. The Mountaineers attempt to extract Stone's brother from LONE with the help of an insider. Zeke attempts to extract two of his Mountaineer friends from the Execution Chambers at The GAME Headquarters in a mission that goes awry. Dark magic is now prevalent in the two young men Arke and his father were counting on to overturn the current oppressive regime of The GAME. The enemy has two other Mountaineers who might hold valuable information. Arke risks his life to find the Soul of the Dragon in search of hope as the Mountaineer cause becomes desperate. One man willingly pays the ultimate sacrifice for his family and the Mountaineer cause. What will be the final toll on the Mountaineers?

Zeke's magical abilities are expired to prevent dark magic overtaking him. Stone faces tough decisions regarding the expiration of his comatose brother. Arke receives pieces of a prophecy. Will he get all three pieces before time expires? Tough decisions are made about potential spies and double agents. The wrong decision would give Alpha 50 the access he needs to expire the Mountaineers.
