About this series
In the far future on an alien world, humanity suffers under a color-coded caste system with corrupt politicians who use genetic heritage and memory Adjustments to control the masses. Can a Proctor named Raif and a Phoenician named Shayla save the human genome from sabotage without having to surrender themselves in the process?
Shayla didn't ask to be a Councillor. She's Phoenician and Phoenicians were never meant to live among the humans. Or not until the Seven Chiefs had ordered her to do it. They'd entrusted her safety to a human Proctor named Raif. They'd said it was all part of the Plan. Well, the Seven Chiefs could keep their Plan. After thirteen years of living among these aliens, Shayla had plans of her own and they don’t include humans or serving on their World Council.
Raif had never intended for things to go this far. A few months, maybe a year, and he could send the little Phoenician girl back to her people, back where she belongs. But she’s not a little girl anymore and he can’t bring himself to let her go now. He has no idea why he's never seen her like this before but now he can’t think about anything else but having her as his own. A Proctor shouldn't think at all, and certainly not about his Councillor that way. The Seven Chiefs offer her to him, like a bribe, but at what price?
Raif finds himself in competition with his own progenitor for control over his Heir, Brennan, and their collective future. Will he sacrifice his own Heir to have the future with Shayla that he craves or will he sacrifice himself for good of the Plan?

- When Minds Collide (Phoenician Short #0.1)

When two brilliant scientists die together in a careless traffic accident, the Community, a fledgling human colony on an alien world, suffers a devastating blow. Joshua Scherrer and Andrew Caine might have loathed each other personally, but their collective knowledge was vital to humanity’s survival. Without them and their contributions, Administrator Stafar Baghendi fears for humanity's very survival. In a desperate attempt to salvage both men, Stafar Baghendi uses an untried, theoretical gene therapy process, infusing the genetically-encoded memory of Andrew Caine into the DNA of Joshua Scherrer. The two men awaken to find themselves living together inside one mind, but their clashing personalities might prove a more fatal collision than the one that killed them the first time. What none of the humans realize is that here on the Phoenician home world, the Seven Chiefs have a Plan for everything—and this time, the Plan will change the course of human history forever. (The end of this short eBook contains an 8000-word excerpt of a Phoenician Series novel; actual length of this story is 29,000 words)
- A First Time for Everything (Phoenician Short #1.1)

William Harrington is the Man in Charge—literally. He’s been the Director of the Centre since he founded the office and he’s been Acting Administrator, presiding over the entire World Council, ever since Joshua Andrew Caine’s health took a downturn. Will’s the most powerful man on this alien planet but when it comes to relationships, he’s not comfortable taking the lead. Drew had liked to be in charge and Drew had been Will’s first and only love. Now Will’s wandering aimlessly through infrequent casual lovers, and none has lasted more than a night or two—none until Jared Crenshaw. Completely outside Will’s social circle and with sexual tastes beyond Will’s vanilla experiences, Jared might be the one who can finally force the last traces of Drew from Will’s body, mind and soul. Jared Crenshaw is used to being responsible for other people’s welfare. He’s a MedTech, so he literally holds another person’s life in his hands on a daily basis. That kind of awesome responsibility has made him comfortable playing the Dom in the bedroom—and he’s made a habit of playing often and with a wide variety of partners. He’s confident he can Master just about any Slave Boy out there until the world’s most-powerful man walks into his life. Jared’s fantasized about William Harrington for five years but never imagined the man would actually be standing shirtless and barefoot in his bedroom. Jared surprises even himself with how intimidated he is—and worse, how real his feelings are once things heat up. Jared Crenshaw doesn’t get attached. He gets laid and moves on—or that’s how it usually goes but nothing is usual about the William Harrington and there’s a first time for everything. A First Time for Everything is a novella in The Phoenician Series. It is a Gay SciFi Romance, with milder sex than typical BDSM erotica but edgier than in a typical mainstream SFR (heterosexual Science Fiction Romances). Some readers may find it too much or too little. This story is intended to be as much a part of the larger series as it is intended to be a standalone romance. Both men in this story are major characters in the other stories of The Phoenician Series. The events in this story occur about one month after the events at the end of the series novel, Man Made Man, the story in which William and Jared first meet.
- Man Made Man (Phoenician #1)
1
Raif was never meant to be a Proctor, he knows that about himself; but then what was he designed to be—or who? Why are there thoughts and memories floating around in his mind about people he’s never met? How did he acquire all the skills and knowledge he seems to have? What was he designed to be? Is he even human? Proctors don't think--or they shouldn't. A Proctor is supposed to follow orders but a Proctor named Raif can't STOP thinking. He's different and he knows it. He was MADE differently. Who made him and why? And what was he designed to BE anyway? With thoughts and memories that can't be his own and donors from over a dozen genetic lines, all Raif knows for certain is that he was never designed to be a Proctor. When Raif tries to find out the truth about his origins, he makes an even more horrifying discovery: his genetic design doesn't exist. There's no record of him in the Breeding Selections. The Archival records supposedly contain every human ever designed but he's not listed. Was he supposed to be MADE or was his design some kind of experimental theory never meant to leave a laboratory dish? Was he given life by accident or was he made for some specific reason? In MAN MADE MAN, Raif searches for answers and instead finds the Phoenicians, strange people that human records claim are indigenous to the planet yet still not understood by humans even after 400 years of sharing a planet. When the Phoenician Seven Chiefs learn of Raif's personal quest, they decide to help him. Of course, they're not just being nice. It's the Seven Chiefs, so there's always a Plan! Now the question Raif will have to answer is whether he's a man who was made for their Plan or if their Plan was made for him? WARNING: This book contains graphic violence which can be extreme at times, small amounts of explicit sexual content and frequently uses language which may offend some readers. This book may not be appropriate for audiences of all ages. Rating: MA-LSV
Marjorie F. Baldwin
Marjorie F. Baldwin (aka "Friday") is a pen name used to write Science Fiction technothrillers, SF action/adventure series, some time travel short stories or novellas and old School SciFi. Friday's style will appeal to fans of Romantic SF (or SFR) since like Heinlein's character after whom she is named, she feels sex is part of the human condition. Of course, that assumes we're all human ^)^
