In the ongoing trial of Chad Daybell, newly released jailhouse phone calls between him and Lori Vallow Daybell reveal surreal code language and disturbing conversations about their crimes.

In a recent episode of the "Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski" podcast, retired FBI Special Agent and Hidden Killers Daily Contributor Jennifer Coffindaffer discussed the latest developments in the Chad Daybell trial. The prosecution presented jailhouse phone calls between Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow Daybell, providing a shocking insight into their mindset.

During the calls, Chad and Lori discussed their plans using code language, which Coffindaffer described as almost "Saturday Night Live level code language." The couple referenced conversations with Lori's deceased brother, Alex Cox, whom they claimed was communicating with them from beyond the grave. In one call, Chad said, "Well, I texted Ray. He responded pretty quick... He was very optimistic."

Coffindaffer expressed disbelief at the casual manner in which they discussed their actions, noting the surreal nature of their conversations. "It's surreal that people could talk about the murder of their kids and anyone in this way, joking around," she remarked.

The podcast also addressed a significant concern regarding the indictment. After the prosecution rested, a clerical error in the indictment's dates was discovered. According to Coffindaffer, "One of the big worries I had was the misdate in the indictment. Fortunately, the judge decided it was a clerical error and we're moving forward."

Coffindaffer criticized Chad Daybell's manipulative behavior, suggesting he did not believe his own claims and was instead using them to control Lori. "I think Chad's just saying whatever he needs to say to try and keep Lori with him," she stated. Coffindaffer speculated that Lori might genuinely believe in their mission, while Chad's motivations were more self-serving, driven by financial gain and personal desires.

The podcast highlighted the disturbing nature of the couple's conversations, which trivialized the deaths of several individuals. "If you don't think that these people are people, it's not murder, in her mind," Brueski commented, reflecting on Lori's mindset.

Coffindaffer further elaborated on Chad's potential deceit, stating, "I'm still convinced... I think she's the gal in the back that puts up this show and then winks at you because she really knows exactly what they did and
