Kyler Murray is their franchise quarterback and will have more talent to work with than he's ever had since being drafted #1 overall in 2019. It's in the very early stages, obviously, but the runway may have never been more bright and long as it is right now in the history of the Arizona Cardinals organization. With that, the veterans who got them here, and who stuck around during the bad times, cannot be forgotten. Nowadays, the second a player isn't in his prime anymore, he's looked at as a liability and not an asset. He's look at as "not worth another contract" just because of his play on the field. The last regime watched Tyrann Mathieu, Calais Campbell, and countless others walk. Mathieu and Campbell were Arizona Cardinals. They were the heartbeat. And they were sent packing. That cannot happen with Budda Baker and James Conner after the 2024 season. Both with no more guaranteed money on their contracts beyond the 2024 NFL season, they need to be thanked and rewarded for what they've done up until this point. While they both may be past their hardcore prime at that point, they still have plenty to offer both on the field, in the locker room, and as integral and invaluable members of the Arizona Cardinals family.
