In the NEW Star Wars Darth Vader issue, Vader lands on Naboo with Padme's shadow, Sabe from the prequels. You may remember her as the Queen of Naboo who would switch roles with Padme to keep her safe during the blockade. Sabe is alive, and she has met with Vader to find the true killer behind Padme's demise. She vows to bring them to justice and avenge her.
As Vader goes to Naboo, he is taken to many of the places where Anakin Skywalker and Padme fell in love. Vader is tormented by these memories of Anakin as he meets with Captain Typho who leads him eventually to a painting of the scene in Episode 1 The Phantom Menace where Anakin is a padawan with Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they stand amidst the Naboo parade with Padme, Palpatine and Bos Nass. Vader is angered and uses his lightsaber to destroy the wall around him as he feels they are wasting his time.
Once they get the hologram which shows Sabe uniting with her crew to avenge Padme, Vader knows he was fooled. We are hit with images of the aftermath from Anakin vs Obi-Wan on Mustafar, where Anakin is laying and Padme is pregnant with Luke and Leia.
Vader knows what must be done as he ignites his sith red lightsaber before them all.
