We're still assessing the results of spring football for the Penn State Nittany Lions on today's show. After six weeks of practice and the Blue-White Game, where do players stand within their position heading into the summer months of player-led training? We're looking at the key positions heading out of spring football on today's BWI Live. Join the show at 10 am on YouTube or check out the replay here, embedded in this article.

Penn State offensive breakdown

There's little change with the team's top two positions on offense. Quarterback Drew Allar played the majority of the team's starting reps, with backup Beau Pribula taking two series with the top offensive line and receivers.

But what about the position battle at running back? Penn State's young players put on a show this spring, and despite missing time, freshman Quinton Martin showed impressive skill in the Blue-White Game. We'll discuss where the battle for the third running back spot is between Martin and Cam Wallace.

Unlike running back, wide receiver is a much messier and more complicated picture. Why was transfer Julian Fleming on the Blue Team? What can we make of the team's performance from this spring? We'll discuss how Penn State has generally used its wide receivers from a positional perspective and then discuss how a team makes them positionless within an offense.

Tight End gives an incomplete picture

How Penn State plans to use its tight ends is very different than what we saw during the Blue-White Game. However, we have some clues about where the competition stands on Saturday for the backup job to starter Tyler Warren.

Finally, we'll try to explain how Penn State used its offensive linemen, specifically in relation to freshman Cooper Cousins. Will he play center or guard this year and what led to him starting at right guard during the Blue-White Game? We'll dive into the offensive line performance from this spring.

Penn State Defense

Lastly, we'll look at the Penn State defense and what sort of competition the team has at linebacker and cornerback. Will the team play just two linebackers this year? If so, how does veteran Dom DeLuca fit into that picture? We'll also discuss Ta'Mere Robinson's performance during the Blue-White game and where the defensive line will find room for five pass rushers in the lineup.

Join the show today at 10 am to hear all of that and more!
