Description
Built in 1531, the Antwerp Handelsbeurs was the first building built specifically as a stock exchange. The Royal Exchange in London, which built in 1565 was originally called the Bourse until Queen Elizabeth I changed the name, is based on it. The magnificent building has now been completely restored and will once again be a shortcut across the city as well as an event location. Bart Anthonissen, partner and architect at ELD has been involved in the project spoke with us about what this has entailed.
