Built in 1531, the Antwerp Handelsbeurs was the first building built specifically as a stock exchange. The Royal Exchange in London, which built in 1565 was originally called the Bourse until Queen Elizabeth I changed the name, is based on it. The magnificent building has now been completely restored and will once again be a shortcut across the city as well as an event location.
