Description

The investigation into the disappearance and death of Madeline Soto has taken a distressing turn as her stepfather, Stephan Sterns, faces a fresh wave of charges related to disturbing images and videos discovered on his phone. Sterns, previously charged with sexual battery of a minor, now confronts an additional 60 charges, including sexual battery on a child under 12 and possession of materials depicting sexual performance by a child, according to the Kissimmee Police Department.

"We appreciate the efforts of our partners in the State Attorney’s Office in assisting with seeking justice for Madeline," stated Kissimmee Police Chief Betty Holland. "With this being a complex case with many facets, our work is not done, and we are continuing our investigation into the timeline leading up to Madeline’s death."

Madeline Soto's disappearance sent shockwaves through the Kissimmee community when she was last seen alive on February 26. Tragically, her lifeless body was found just days later on March 1 in a wooded area. The circumstances surrounding her death remain shrouded in mystery, with no charges yet filed, and police withholding information about the cause of her demise.

The revelation of disturbing content on Sterns' phone adds a disturbing layer to the investigation. Despite initially consenting to a search of his device, Sterns claimed to have accidentally performed a factory reset. However, investigators uncovered a trove of images and videos dating back years, depicting Soto being sexually abused. These findings underscore the complexity of the case and the urgency in seeking justice for Madeline.

The charges against Sterns cast a shadow of suspicion over his involvement in Madeline's disappearance and subsequent death. As authorities delve deeper into the case, they remain committed to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable.

The community continues to mourn the loss of Madeline Soto, a young life cut short under tragic circumstances. As the investigation progresses, the hope for closure and justice for Madeline and her loved ones remains paramount.
