Rachel Roberts, 13, hails from Potomac, Maryland, and is an 8th grader at Eastern Middle School’s Humanities and Communications Magnet Program. She has loving parents, Steve and Tammy, and a puppy named Scooby Doo! A competitive dancer at District Dance Company (DDC), Rachel is an elite team member. She is a DDC Leading Lady, serving as an assistant teacher and role model for younger students while learning and applying leadership and business skills at the studio. Besides dance, she loves to sing and act. She’s a member of Take the Stage Performance Company performing in public venues and nursing homes year round. In the magnet program, Rachel studies at an honors high school level focusing on World Studies, English, and Media. She is an honor roll student and was recognized for demonstrating outstanding responsibility, positive relationships and leadership earning an Exceptional Eagle Award. Rachel’s Beauty With A Purpose reaches foster care children across America, by sorting donations and packing backpacks for Comfort Cases, a national nonprofit that provides necessities to children entering the foster system. Her most recent fundraiser collected enough items to provide for over 500 foster kids. While organizing a national drive for Comfort Cases to culminate on National Foster Kid Day, she continues to help those with food insecurities by making and distributing lunches to people in need. She also raised over $3,000 to feed over 3,000 children. To broaden her reach, she created an IGTV show, “RACH for the Stars” showing teens ways they can help their communities and find their volunteer passion.
