Description

As we find solace in the quietude of Lent's third week, our latest meditation navigates the depths of prayer, aligning our hearts with Bishop Jacques Bossuet's teachings. His poignant reflections, brought to life in Meditations for Lent, guide us through the intertwining of our own spirit with that of Jesus Christ. Delve into the essence of true supplication as we explore the dual truths: our own nothingness without Christ and the boundless potential we possess through Him.Today's session, rich with wisdom from the Gospel of John and the epistles of St. Paul, serves as a beacon through the contemplative season of Lent. We embrace the power of the 'Word of the Cross' as we are led to a deeper understanding of how the journey to crucifixion is not just a historical path but a transformative force in our own spiritual walk. Join us for a heartfelt encounter with the sacred art of prayer, where we learn that it is not by our merit but through His strength that our petitions rise to Heaven and find their answer.Support the show********************************************************https://www.avoidingbabylon.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssSpiritusTV: https://spiritustv.com/@avoidingbabylonRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-1626455Odysee: https://odysee.com/@AvoidingBabylon

Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity. As we see it, our job here at Avoiding Babylon is to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God’s Grace.  Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world, for as Hillaire Belloc has famously said:“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,There’s always laughter and good red wine.At least I’ve always found it so.Benedicamus Domino!”
