The Lakers had a terrible 2021-22 season, in part because Anthony Davis was not the dominant force he needed to be (even setting aside all the time missed with injury). Over the weekend, a video surfaced, clipped (of course!) from a larger video in which Anthony Davis notes he hasn't shot a basketball since April. Not sure when it was shot, and honestly it doesn't matter. Davis, like many players, takes the first weeks of the offseason to heal, then trains without a basketball for a while before returning to the court. Training camp doesn't happen until October. It's a nothingburger, basketball wise.Optics wise?Davis is coming off a horrible season shooting the rock, and has generally not fared that well with the jumper - Bubble aside - since arriving in Los Angeles. So for fans to hear that he hasn't been burying himself in the gym with a maniacal focus on destroying the NBA next season has many of them up in arms.
