Well, the Lakers' four-game winning streak has come to a crashing halt. Sunday's 127-119 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies wasn't nearly as close as the score might indicate, much less indicative of any balanced attack. LeBron James continued his recent streak of crushing it (35 points on 14-19 shooting, plus nine rebounds and seven assists), but everyone else, save perhaps Talen Horton-Tucker in the first quarter, was invisible on both ends of the floor. Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant provided a block and dunk for the ages, and got big help from Desmond Bane (23 points), Jaren Jackson Jr. (21 points) and Kyle Anderson (14 points, eight assists), among others. The outcome was indicative of how the Lakers have played better of late, and have finally been gifted some crucial continuity, but have a lot of ground to make up closing the gap between them and the NBA elites.In the meantime, Russell Westbrook, who scored just six points on 2-12 shooting, appeared very unhappy after this game.
