Description

It was not a pretty win, but it counts. And the value for the Lakers in their 101-99 overtime win over the Knicks at Staples Center isn't just limited to keeping themselves alive in the race to stay out of the NBA's play-in tournament. This was a game that continued to reveal the team's character. New York steadfastly refused to let Anthony Davis beat them, and despite missing every ball handling guard and wing on the team save Talen Horton-Tucker (Alex Caruso left the game with a foot injury), the Lakers managed to find enough production from the supporting cast to win.And they played suffocating defense in the second half. That helped.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Reviewing the game. It's another example of why this team is likable. They just don't quit on games, or mail things in. It wasn't easy, but the Lakers stuck it out under tough circumstances for an important win. And you know who looked good? Andre Drummond!SEGMENT 2: One more point about Drummond, and why Tuesday could be an indication of what happens when he gets real minutes next to LeBron and Davis. At least in theory. From there, it's a quick peek at the mailbag to answer a question about Montrezl Harrell, and we finish talking LeBron. What's the angst level if he doesn't play Wednesday? What's the angst level if he does?SEGMENT 3: Our thoughts on the play-in. Sorry, LeBron, but the guy who thought of it deserves a raise, not a pink slip.Keep an eye out for our YouTube channel (LockedOnLakers) and Friday's interview with Chris McGee of Spectrum Sportsnet...Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
