Description

On today's show, Cody Roark (@CodyRoarkNFL) highlights the Denver Broncos first day of NFL Free Agency moves. The organization declined to pick up the club option of Safety Kareem Jackson, re-signed defensive lineman Shelby Harris to a three-year contract, and signed former Washington Football Team cornerback Ronald Darby to a three-year deal. Denver also placed 2nd-round tenders on LB Alexander Johnson and WR Tim Patrick. Plus, can General Manager George Paton change the perception of the team's culture by taking care of their in-house free agent players?
Cody starts the show off by discussing the news of the Broncos declining the club option on Safety Kareem Jackson, how does the positional need change now for them?
Cody then goes on to discuss defensive lineman Shelby Harris re-signing with the Broncos at the start of free agency and goes in-depth on what the Broncos projected starting defensive line will be, reflecting on Shelby's journey and his impact on the team.
The Broncos placed an original round tender on RB Phillip Lindsay, and 2nd-round tenders on LB Alexander Johnson and WR Tim Patrick, Cody discusses what it means regarding Lindsay's future as a Bronco and what the plans are for Johnson and Patrick.
Cody then shares his thoughts on the team's signing of former WFT CB Ronald Darby and discusses why Broncos fans shouldn't be as concerned about Darby's "injury history" by providing information on Darby's play in 2020, starting and playing in all 16 games, and what he offers the Broncos in Vic Fangio's scheme, and why the Broncos may not be done at CB in free agency just yet.
Cody then discusses the state of the AFC West after several of the Broncos divisional rivals made some big-time signings to their offensive lines, and a new pass rusher enters the mix that Denver will have to face twice per season.
To close out the show, Cody discusses how George Paton is in a perfect position to change the perception of the culture of the team that is held by players inside the locker room and players outside of Denver based on how John Elway didn't commonly pay guys who have been on the roster, letting them walk away. Paton finds himself in a position to change that for the better, and he's off to a good start with his decision to re-sign Shelby Harris.
