Locked on Jets 10/30/17 Episode 276: Jets Lose Third Straight to Atlanta: Sunday was a rainy day at the Meadowlands. By the end of their Week 8 loss to the Falcons, Jets fans felt about as gloomy as the weather. Atlanta's 25-20 victory has put the Jets on a three game losing streak. The team is now 3-5. Three weeks ago, the Jets were giving signals they were going to beat expectations in 2017. Now it feels like an early three game winning streak might have been a temporary diversion from the bottom of the league standings. On today's podcast we offer some thoughts on the game. The weather played a role. There were some key plays that went against the Jets aided by Mother Nature, but the Falcons also had their share of problems with the weather. There were some disappointing performances and some silver linings on a rainy day. Ultimately the difference between the teams might have been quality at the most important position on the field. Locked on Jets 8/26/19 Episode 686: Jets Lose to Saints in Preseason: The Jets lost to the New Orleans Saints in their third preseason game Saturday night at MetLife Stadium. While the score in preseason typically doesn't carry a ton of meaning, the 28-13 final was fairly emblematic of the way things went down in this one. Many coaches consider the third preseason game to be a dress rehearsal. There is an old theater superstition that a poor dress rehearsal is an open for a good opening night. If that is the case, the Jets will probably blow the Bills out in Week 1 because their performance against the Saints was quite poor. With that said, the team we saw on the field Saturday will look quite different from the one that takes the field against Buffalo in just under two weeks so it would be a good idea to not get too worked up over this one admittedly poor outing. There was one way this team resembled last year's squad, poor pass defense. Ultimately, the Jets overcame it and won the game by avoiding the killer mistakes that have plagued their fourth quarters all season. Jets Lose to the Winless Bengals Episode 755 12/2/19: It has been a difficult season for the New York Jets. A three game winning streak offered a brief respite, but that ended Sunday in resounding fashion. The Jets lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 22-6. The score was indicative of how easily the Bengals handled the Jets. Cincinnati entered this game with an 0-11 record. The Jets already had a loss to an 0-7 Miami team last month. With this defeat, the Jets made the wrong kind of history. They became the first NFL team to ever lose to two opponents who were winless this deep into the season.
