Description

Author Nadine Condon joins Kyle Meredith to talk about her book Confessions: Stories to Rock Your Soul, a memoir of her time as a publicist for Jefferson Starship (and later Starship) and her adventures and misadventures through the music industry of post-hippie late 70s, decadent 80s, and new discovery of the 90s. Condon discusses her journey from growing up in Louisville, KY, and seeing The Doors and Janis Joplin to making her way out west and falling in with the Grateful Dead and second chapter of Jefferson Airplane, getting her first job with the band the day they released “Jane,” and then seeing the band transition into Starship and the protection she felt for Grace Slick, along with the general disregard for women artists and their lack of protection. Nadine also digs into her time helping to launch the early careers of Beyonce, Counting Crows, and Third Eye Blind with the showcases she would put on, and why she eventually left the music industry forever.Listen to Nadine Condo talk about all this and more on YouTube above.
