The Edmonton Oilers started to look more like themselves last night, specifically in the third period. The second period; however, they looked more like Edmonton from first 11 games of the year, which wasn't good. Lots of turnovers and lots puck battles allowed the Detroit Red Wings to claw there way back into game. Despite that, Connor McDavid did what he does best. The Oilers scored five goals in the third period and the Oilers captain played a role in four of them. McDavid secured his 600th career assist in 618 games, making him the fourth fastest player in NHL history to achieve that milestone. Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each finished with three points each, with both players scoring goals. Additionally, Cody Ceci ended his goal drought and Leon Draisaitl had a pair of points.
