    The Minnesota legislative session begins on Monday and state lawmakers are starting to champion various causes. The Minneapolis City Council approved a $950,000 settlement on behalf of journalists detained or injured by Minneapolis police during unrest following George Floyd’s killing in 2020. And the council also enacted a resolution calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war.This is an MPR News morning update, hosted by Phil Picardi.
