It's the year 2021 and the world has been infected by a parasitic virus known as "Gastrea" that transforms humans into gigantic insects. The last of humanity cowers behind a gigantic wall composed of a material that keeps out the worst of these gigantic monsters. However, smaller Gastrea are able to slip through gaps in the wall and wreak havoc amongst the terrified inhabitants within. It falls upon the shoulders of the Initiators, small girls who have trace amounts of the Gastrea virus in their blood which gives them superhuman abilities, and their promoters (their human handlers), to handle any threats that threaten the fragile remnants of humanity.
